Open to all feedback; however, if you see anything you like, feel free to leave some compliments too. :-) Thanks. Steve, Sm8900 19:34, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are a very strong writer and editor. For your work on many articles on a wide range of topics, you have earned my heartfelt admiration.

I'd like you to please take a moment to read and ponder: Wikipedia is not a battleground. To me, the meaning of this directive is simply that trouble may be unavoidable, but you should not go looking for unnecessary mayhem and mischielf. As I skimmed through your talk page, I saw a number of incidents - the nasty global warming dispute (not entirely your fault; there were some senior editors involved), where you questioned an admin for semiprotecting an article. As far as I could tell, he did nothing wrong at the time, and I think you misunderstood the situation, i.e. he was not intending to lock the page in m:the wrong version. Greeves warned you for 3RR, I don't know what about, but by that time I think you would have known how to avoid 3RR situations. And you got nailed for uploading a copyright violation. Everyone makes that mistake once (myself included), but try not to repeat it. These are the annoying policy distractions that interfere with the daily production and improvement of articles, the lifeblood of Wikipedia.

My advice to you: I know it's impossible to avoid disputes because you edit controversial topics, and you do it well. But try to be just a little less involved in disputes, and a little more considerate of other people's good intentions. There's no reason to get a heart attack while fighting over a project that didn't exist ten years ago, and might not exist in its current format ten years from now.

I wish you good luck. YechielMan 14:16, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Only once or twice. there was a genberal dispute at Global warming. For a part of that, I was part of the dispute over editing practices. Eventually I began to advocate a more cooperative approach; this in itself was still just one view of the dispute, but it did enable me to take a more constructive tone.
