Friedrichsstadtpassagen[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:23, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1) It's a misspelling: Friedrich(s)stadtpassagen are in Berlin's Friedrichstadt and were never written with an extra "s".
2) Friedrichstadtpassagen/Friedrichstadt-Passagen do not have an article yet here in enwp. (see commons:Category:Friedrichstadt-Passagen and de:Friedrichstadt-Passagen for details).

V: Friedrichstadt – XV: Spandauer Vorstadt

3) The target Kunsthaus Tacheles (formerly Friedrichstraßenpassage) is a completely different location, more than 1 km further to the north:

4) P.S. And no, it is not a former or historic name: The Friedrichstraßenpassage (singular, 1 block) was built & named in 1907/1908. The Friedrichstadt-Passagen (plural, 3 blocks) were built in the 1990s. Certainly, the names may be confusing especially to foreign speakers. Straße = Street; Stadt = City. --89.14.121.62 (talk) 01:46, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
5) PPS. The mistake was entered 2010-10-20: Special:Diff/391813439 (User:Gilabrand) – although the correct name "Friedrichstraßenpassage" was already there since 2006-12-28 Special:Diff/96993576 (IP) – and the cited new source didn't even contain any of "Friedrich..." nor "...passage(n)".
The mistake was not removed until 2019-04-06: Special:Diff/891225526 (User:Nicholas0). --89.14.121.62 (talk) 03:06, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it’s currently an {{R from song}}, however it could also refer to the slang term “If you know you know”, referenced at List of Generation Z slang. Propose retargeting to the latter page. user:A smart kittenmeow 22:23, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • retarget per nom B3251 (talk) 01:41, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom, the more general location that covers a catchall for the acronym's meaning. A IYKYK (song) can be created if necessary. (Actually, to be honest I'd probably just move the page to "(song)" as that feels like a plausible modifier. Never mind, I think it is worth bringing up that IYKYK (Lil Durk song) and Iykyk (acronym) are currently redirects in existence. Utopes (talk / cont) 02:02, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is no singular incident that happened at O'Hare. I was considering retargeting to O'Hare International Airport#Major accidents and incidents, but that has multiple incidents, however, not the current target. TartarTorte 16:00, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrowtalk 16:05, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is an unlikely typo here, and the character is never referred to by that title. QuicoleJR (talk) 18:27, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Looking into this, E. Gadd is seemingly referred to as a doctor (including the Dr. prefix) depending on the localization/language of the games. Generally speaking as well, "F.Lastname" is a fairly common way of typing names. I think this title is unmistakably referring to Prof E. Gadd, and redirects are cheap. E.Gadd and Dr. E. Gadd are also redirects in existence, and I'd say both of these are also probably warranted for the reasons described. Utopes (talk / cont) 21:59, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A misspelling of Reflist (refiist), but it's unreasonable to think that people would mistake the lowercase L for an uppercase i, so I don't think it should stick around. SWinxy (talk) 05:17, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete: As pointed out by the nom, it's unlikely someone would mistake th L in reflist for an uppercase i. Also it is not transcluded anywhere. Generally, in my book that's enough to say it's unused in template space and wouldn't cause harm if deleted. TartarTorte 13:14, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Consensus seems to be that this typo is plausible enough to keep a redirect; it's pretty easy to make (happens by just swapping the t and i at the end), and it's getting an average of 2 views a month across the past year. (non-admin closure) Skarmory (talk • contribs) 01:17, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete: unlikely misspelling. On the other hand, redirects are cheap and it isn't harming anyone. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 14:40, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak keep as {{R from typo}} -- this is a single character transposition, swapping two adjacent characters around, a very common form of typo; which is used twice a season per the usages stats, so more than once a year. -- 67.70.25.175 (talk) 22:34, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, WP:RK#K5. This specific one seems to be used an average of 2 times a month, so not implausible. I know I make these switching-hand typos all the time myself. —siroχo 06:30, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, plausible typo, gets at least a few hits. I've added R from misspelling. SnowFire (talk) 18:47, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete; although people may type this, typos do not make good redirects and people can just correct their error. Keeping would also cause a WP:PANDORA issue. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 06:48, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@InterstellarGamer12321: typos do not make good redirects. I'm sorry? There is an rcat for this: {{R from misspelling}}. Edward-Woodrowtalk 22:21, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as {{R from typo}}: this is a plausible misspelling, as indicated by search results for tau ceit: [1]. I don’t see anything in the search results that would concern me that keeping Tau Ceit would be harmful: the majority of the search results I could see clearly included the term as misspelling of Tau Ceti, including a 1973 New Scientist magazine: [2]. Indiecore[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. When there is clarity on the aesthetic meaning, the page may be recreated as a redirect or an article. Jay 💬 06:41, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

When I Google searched this term, I got 50/50 results. Half the results were for the music genre (coming from sites such as Last.fm) while the other half described an aesthetic. Where should this page go? Here's a Pinterest link for the indie core aesthetic https://www.pinterest.com/ohines06/indie-core-aesthetic/ and here's an Urban Dictionary (I know, not really reliable, but shows that the term also describes a music genre) link for the music genre https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Indiecore Urban Dictionary describes it as a blend of Indie and Hardcore (Hardcore punk?) music. Moline1 (talk) 14:50, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per WP:REDLINK. The only use of the term on Wikipedia appears at Jesse Smith (musician), with a source which does not use the term but describes Smith's music as "[m]ixing elements of indie rock and hardcore". In other words it's a meaningless neologism. If and when the subject coalesces into a distinct genre with people writing about it, instead of a smattering of sources mixing unrelated terms with no common definition, then we can write an article about it, but having the title redirect to a tenuously-related fusion genre based on one editor's opinionated guess just isn't useful to readers. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 20:28, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete or redirect: Indiecore as a genre should definitely be deleted. The source, and like you said, says he mixed indie rock and hardcore, but it doesn't use the term indiecore to describe this fusion. For all we know, an album described in this manner could very well have five tracks that fall into the indie rock genre and five others that fall into the hardcore genre, but no tracks where the genres are explicitly fused together as "indiecore". The article should only reappear if and when reliable sources such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Allmusic, and so on, start using this to describe artists.
Now for the redirect. There is an aesthetic referred to as indiecore, and like I said above, the Google results were 50/50 between the so-called genre and the aesthetic. The problem is, I have know idea if indiecore is its own aesthetic, or an alternate name for another one (like how countrycore is an alternate name for the cottagecore aesthetic). This would need to be ironed out before redirecting the page. Moline1 (talk) 16:30, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant. Similar redirects exist for other Belgian princes and princesses, such as Gabriel of Belgium and Emmanuel of Belgium. The Duchess of Brabant is also arguably the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC per pageviews [3]. This could still be treated as a WP:ONEOTHER, with a hatnote at the top of the page on Princess Elisabeth. estar8806 (talk) ★ 01:17, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
