Disqualification!? Danger! Moving ahead of schedule! The troubled great main battle![edit]

Delete. The page was moved to Hit It or Quit It: The Final Rounds Get Complicated! which is the episode name cited at the target page. The nominated redirects appear when searching for "disqualification", and look like garbage, especially as this long text is not found in any form at the target page. – Fayenatic London 17:15, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this was related to a page move do we need to keep it for historical reasons? Also I think these are English translations of the original Japanese title 失格!?キケン!前倒し!波乱含みの大本戦. I used a translation software and got disqualified! ? dangerous! The schedule! The large round upsets. While the translation I got is not exact it seems close enough to indicate that the current redirects are actual translations of the original title since that and the current translation seems too close to be a coincidence.--70.49.83.129 (talk) 23:13, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The article was at this title for six years. In that six years, it's likely a lot of external links to that article were made. We have no way of knowing if other websites are linking to particular titles, so we keep these so that we don't break links. Ego White Tray (talk) 15:46, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I think you may have misunderstood the history of Hit It or Quit It: The Final Rounds Get Complicated!; [1] shows that the article was moved from Naruto Episode 63 to the second nominated name on 19 June 2006, then to the first nominated name on 19 November 2006, then to "Hit It!" (etc) on 20 November 2006, before being merged and redirected on 22 April 2007‎. That's only five months at "Disqualification" (etc), not six years. It was only at the page that does not mention Naruto for one day.
Although I also care about incoming external links, IMHO it would be sufficient to include a link to the "Hit It" redirect within the edit summary when deleting the nominated pages.
I searched for external links to this page and only found one, at nationmaster.com which is blocked so I cannot post the link here. As it happens, the multiple adjacent punctuation marks after the first word make it a bad link anyway: clicking on the link at nationmaster.com [2] results in an attempt to open the page Disqualification! which has never existed. Therefore there is really nothing to lose.
    • Note to closing admin: if deletion occurs, please include " moved to [[Hit It or Quit It: The Final Rounds Get Complicated!]] " in the edit summaries. – Fayenatic London 16:35, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom and subsequent research. --Tikiwont (talk) 17:17, 27 October 2012 (UTC) Keep Beyond the page history that I didn't really see clearly the first time round, I found some pages that list this or similar titles for the episode which indeed seems to be a rough translation.[3] but then it should lead to the actual title. --Tikiwont (talk) 20:27, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • But it doesn't lead to the actual title; it leads to a list of episodes and gives no clue as to which episode had a translation of this title in the original language. – Fayenatic London 20:28, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well without a current article the case for an alternate unofficial title is weaker, but together with it being part of the edit history, I'm not seeing the harm. A better target might be List of Naruto episodes (season 2)#ep63 since I intended as title the right section 63 which has an intrinsic anchor and possibly add an edit note. --Tikiwont (talk) 12:36, 5 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's obviously a better target, so I have redirected both of these and three other past page names to that section. However, I would still prefer to delete the "Disqualification" pages, as that translation does not appear, and they are search clutter. – Fayenatic London 18:52, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Disqualification!? Danger! Moving ahead of schedule! The troubled great main battle! as valid {{R from move}}. That was the title for six months. When we move pages, and we want to direct readers from the old title to the new one, we leave a redirect from the old title to the new one, we don't delete the old title and put "moved to [New Title]" in the deletion summary.
    • I think that would matter more if we had kept the article. As the page has been redirected to a lost of episodes, and all its content removed from the live version of the encyclopedia, its history really seems worthless to me. – Fayenatic London 20:28, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Delete Danger! Moving ahead of schedule! The troubled great main battle! (Naruto episode). Was only the title for a day, it's search page clutter. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 13:49, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Since you only mentioned deleting the second redirect does that mean that you want the first one (the one without naruto episode) kept?--174.93.171.10 (talk) 22:58, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
From the history of the page, I am pretty sure that is what Emmette wanted, yes. Unfortunately I do not think that would help a great deal, as the first one would remain as search clutter. – Fayenatic London 10:08, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
