Nominator's rationale: Non-defining trait and appears to be based on OR/Synth. Additionally, the subcategories are wrong. Non-violent and nonkilling video games can be VERY child non-friendly. -- ferret (talk) 20:00, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Basically the same as the rationale for deleting nonviolent video games below. They certainly don't both need to exist as the entries would be nearly identical. WPscatter t/c 19:55, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete For the same reason as | This entry. Extremely broad topic that would be Over catagorization and redundant. PerryPerryD Talk To Me 19:57, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Overly broad, non-defining, and requires OR/SYNTH to populate. -- ferret (talk) 20:00, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete NOTDEF and overly broad. What use is putting Tetris, Sonic, and Myst? EvergreenFir (talk) 20:10, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per others. Not appropriate for a category. oknazevad (talk) 20:54, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom and because such a categorization would require OR. (edit conflict) dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 20:54, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete OR, synth, and subjective category. Satellizer el Bridget (Talk) 07:24, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This one's at least a little less subjective than "child-friendly" and "non-violent" (though I imagine it still has a significant gray area). Still, it's generally unnecessary to categorize things by what they aren't, when they were never assumed to be that in the first place. Ionmars10 (talk) 00:29, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete because it's pretty much just a category with a selection of random games. LilianaUwU (talk / contribs) 00:31, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete useless category, currently only houses Sonic the Hedgehog titles which are not strictly "non-killing" anyway silviaASH (User:BlankpopsiclesilviaASHs4) (inquire within) 16:44, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Unnecessary as a video game should be assumed to be non-violent by default. There's also no Category:Violent video games (I know that's technically WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS however if this category exists it would make sense for the opposite one to exist) ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:23, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Most platform games are violent (the enemies are killed when the player jumps on them for example). Also, the article nonviolent video game exists for a reason, just create Category:Violent video games. We could also add Category:Child friendly video games (that would include Super Mario). --Bawanio (talk) 19:26, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies if this is an inappropriate nomination btw. I'm currently looking through all stuff relating to categories to try and understand what should and shouldn't be a category but this doesn't seem to fall under one that should be kept or deleted from what I"m finding. If I'm not finding the right thing please link me to it and I will withdraw my nom. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:35, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Some of these games can be very violent, like when I accidentally make a 20-car pileup in Euro Truck Sim 2 :)[Joke] dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 19:30, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete - not sure such a vague, subjective category is a good idea. At the very least, the creator needs to slow down with its application. I've already found a bunch of poorly applied ones. (Like Arcade soccer games that allow you to check characters onto the ground or into an electric fence. That's decidedly violent.) Sergecross73 msg me 20:02, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The quick application was what alerted me to this. They added this category to Splatoon which is the complete opposite of the entire franchise. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 20:05, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I added the category by mistake but it was reverted, so don't worry. And I will not add the categories to more articles, I'm happy with the demonstration. --Bawanio (talk) 20:07, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Only subcategory of Category:Voiceless oral consonants by a specific manner of articulation, and no corresponding Category:Voiced plosives category either. This just makes the speech sounds category tree harder to navigate in my opinion. 1234qwer1234qwer4 14:21, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You can create Category:Voiced plosives. Apokrif (talk) 14:40, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I stated my point of view that I feel like this hinders navigation, so I am not going to. 1234qwer1234qwer4 15:24, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How does it hinder navigation? Apokrif (talk) 01:23, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I feel like this really calls for more categorization rather than less. Let's get some Category:Voiceless fricatives and Category:Voiced trills categories. VanIsaac, LLE contWpWS 15:59, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the point of this: as a reader, I find seeing the pair of the voiced and voiceless consonant somewhere close to each other in the same category quite useful. (Neglecting the fact that Category:Trill consonants has a total of 13 members anyway.) 1234qwer1234qwer4 15:49, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: delete, not a defining characteristic for the only article in the category about an American women who first toured through British India, then continued to tour through Europe. She only settled in India for permanent after it was no longer "British" India. Marcocapelle (talk) 12:37, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Merge for Now to Category:American emigrants to India. No conceptual problem with this category but it doesn't seem to have been part of a demographic trend so growth is limited. • Populate David Sassoon ought also tom be in the category. They were Jewish merchants from Baghdad who moved to India. Is this unique? Peterkingiron (talk) 16:49, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
