Green Party of Saudi Arabia[edit]
- Green Party of Saudi Arabia (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) (delete) – (View log)
Allegedly, this is a political party in Saudi Arabia. But political parties are banned there and there is no news or academic coverage of it. The entire article is a summary of a Geocities page. My prod was removed because someone working for "Expert Enterprises" in Egypt summarized the Wikipedia article at [1]; the person who removed the prod explained to me, quite absurdly, that the summary was a U.S. government webpage. - Delete Not notable per WP:ORG. Don't try to get beyond that or it will become entangled. I will point out though that just because political parties are banned there doesn't mean there aren't any. Drawn Some (talk) 01:48, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep To quote an official webpage of the Egyptian government: "No political parties are allowed in Saudi Arabia. However, a party called Green Party of Saudi Arabia, which promotes the values of the worldwide Green movement, exists as an illegal organization." So, A) The Egyptian government acknowledges the existence of the Green Party of Saudi Arabia, and says it is an illegal organization because political parties are allowed in Saudi Arabia. B) It is no wonder that there aren't many hits on the Internet for this organization because it is an illegal organization. Kingturtle (talk) 11:56, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment: That still doesn't substantiate notability per WP:ORG. Let's focus on satisfying WP:ORG to establish the presence or absence of notability and avoid other issues. Drawn Some (talk) 15:08, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Government recognition of an illegal group is notable. Kingturtle (talk) 15:34, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- It's not government recognition, it's part of a summary of trade info that was written by "Export Entreprises" [2]. Shii (tock) 15:54, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- The government of Egypt has reprinted it on their website, which is an endorsement of it, and validates it. Kingturtle (talk) 16:21, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- That does not establish notability. Please see WP:ORG. Drawn Some (talk) 18:45, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Commment There are standards of notability that exisit for Wikipedia. This must meet WP:ORG. Please review it before claiming that this organization is notable. Drawn Some (talk) 18:42, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to Politics of Saudi Arabia. What little content there is, and what little mention, can go there. Fences and windows (talk) 04:11, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

- Merge to Politics of Saudi Arabia - an illegal politivcal party is notable, but not enough sources to warrant a separate article.--Unionhawk Talk E-mail 02:02, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Merge to Politics of Saudi Arabia, as the sources for the party that presently exist are not sufficiently reliable or detailed for a standalone article. Lankiveil (speak to me) 05:52, 16 May 2009 (UTC).[reply]
- Keep Too odd and intersting to be not-notable. Found many hits in Google. Rirunmot (talk) 19:20, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - for the reasons outlined above. It definitely is notable. Tris2000 (talk) 14:50, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
