He is the younger brother of iconic musician Naum Warhola, actor Lev Warhola, and model, TV Host Ash Stymest. Currently Auden is the lead singer of the British band, You Me At Six. His best mates are actors, Robert Pattinson, and Tom Sturridge.

Comment, most people use the search box to find articles and if they type anything with "Boosey & Hawkes" in it (or even anything similar) they will likely be delivered to the correct page. Just as there is no Wal-Mart Inc page because it isn't necessary, I don;t think these requests are necessary either. Comment, That's true Soap, but the reason for these redirections, is that in sites such as facebook, when people write a company name, this automatically provides a link to the relevant wikipedia page. So if somebody writes "Boosey & Hawkes" as the company name on Facebook, it will automatically link to the relevant page on Wikipedia. But if somebody writes "Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers" as the company name on Facebook, then the link will not direct to the relevant page. Hence the request for the redirections from both "Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers" and "Boosey & Hawkes Music Publishers Ltd". There is already a redirection in place for when somebody types "Boosey and Hawkes" which forwards to "Boosey & Hawkes". If you could action both redirections that would be great. Thanks. Among many stalwarts in the field of Harikatha, the shining star and the last one amongst the Harikatha exponents to be conferred with Sangita Kalanidhi was Sri Embar Vijayaraghavachariar. Embar was conferred with this title in the year 1982.

What does the word “Embar” denote?

Ramanuja aka Emberumanar, the preceptor of Visishtadvaita philosophy had a cousin by name Govinda. When he became the ardent devotee and disciple of Emberumanar, Govinda was given the name Embar. Since Vijayaraghavachariar was born in the family, who were descendents of the great Acharya Embar, this became the family title of Vijayaraghavachariar and his predecessors. Even though his father was also a great exponent of Harikatha, only Vijayaraghavachariar was popular by the family title Embar. Like the great musicians Ramanuja Iyengar and Srinivasa Iyer who were identified by their village names such as Ariyakudi and Semmangudi respectively, Vijayaraghavachariar was also identified first by his fame name Embar.

Embar Vijayaraghavachariar was born on 24th Nov 1909 in Chidambaram. His grandfather Embar Varadhachariar was a reputed scholar. He was proficient in Vedas, Sastras and also proficiency in Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu. Varadhachariar was also a good musician. He was a contemporary to Gopalakrishna Bharathi. It is said that both used to meet often and Bharathi used to discuss with Varadhachariar about his compositions.

Vijayaraghavachariar’s father Chidambaram Srirangachariar (1883-1944) was also a great exponent of Harikatha, besides being proficient in Sanskrit. His Harikatha on Nandanar was very popular in those days. Both Srirangachariar and later his son Vijyaraghavachariar learnt the Sastras from Mahamahopadhyay. Dandapani Dikshidar, who was a great scholar. Thus, for Embar Vijayaraghavachariar his grandfather and father were the main source of knowledge for sastras and the intricacies of Harikatha. He also learnt several Thyagaraja Kritis from Sri Chidambaram Sundaram Pillai (father of C.S. Jayaraman).

After studying up to matriculation he learnt Sanskrit at the Meenakshi college, college of oriental arts, Chidambaram which later was known as Annamalai University. Embar obtained double Sironmani in Sanskrit – Vedanta and Sahitya.

His proficiency in Sanskrit Tamil, Telugu and Marathi along with good knowledge of music enabled him to attain mastery in Harikatha.

Vijyaraghavachariar initially lived in Chidambaram till 1940 and later moved to Mannargudi. After staying there for about 8 years he shifted to Srirangam in 1948, where he lived till his last day.

His proficiency in various languages, thorough knowledge in the epics and puranas, eloquent narration and captivating music made him a very popular Harikatha exponent. Embar should also be credited for changing the format of Harikatha to make it more interesting. Prior to Embar’s era, Harikatha artists used to adopt most of the Marathi musical forms for Harikatha such as Saaki Dindi, Orvi, etc and repeat each raga more than half a dozen times in a 4- hour programme. They just concentrated on handful of Ragas such as Sindhu Bhairavi, Behag etc.

Embar changed this trend by introducing many apoorva ragas like Vasanta Bhairavi, Saramati etc. Moreover he would sing over 50 ragas in his performance. Embar was also proficient in Agama Sastra and astrology. He used to impart training on the Agama Sastra to the archakas of Mannargudi Rajagopalaswamy Temple. Story goes that he used the inner walls of the temple as blackboard to write Agama lessons and one day when Kanchi Paramacharya visited that place, he was astonished by the deep knowledge that Embar had on the subject. HH Paramacharya believed to have honored him for the same.

Embar had good knowledge of Naatya Sastra as well. In his earlier performances he used to dance on the stage wearing anklets as was done by his predecessors. He choreographed a dance-drama on Ramayana for the famous Bharatha natyam artistes - Lalitha and Padmini. He had also acted in a drama called ‘Sathi Leelavathi’ where he played as a heroine.

Needless to say while performing Harikatha, he used to dramatize a particular sequence so well that the audience got the impression of witnessing a drama. Such was the effect of his mono acting on stage.

Embar undertook many overseas trip in those days and many of them were for noble causes. To quote a few A. In 1958 he visited Malaysia on a Harikatha tour and the proceeds were donated for the renovation of Kamalalayam tank in Tiruvarur. Kanchi Acharya conferred the title THIYAGAMANI in recognition of this noble service.

B. 1966-Benefit performance at Singapore for establishment of Srinivasa Temple there. 1982-Went to Malaysia for renovation of a Murugan Temple.

Besides the above, he had presented benefit performances for the renovation of Chakrapani Temple, Kumbakonam and for the Kalyana Mantapam at Oppliyappankoil. He performed continuously for 35 years at Srinivasa Perumal Temple Kalyanapuram, during Kalyana utsavam which was conducted by Sri Raju Vadhyar, father of Kalyanapuram Aaravamudachariar

He also performed Harikatha on some unique subjects and personalities. 1944 Presented Harikatha on Ramana Maharshi at Bombay. 1958 Presented ‘Thiruneelakantar’ charitam from the original text of Gopala Krishna Bharathi. 1965 Presented Harikatha on the life of ‘Vivekananda’ in Coimbatore 1966 Performed Harikatha on ‘Gouthama Buddha’ on Singapore Radio 1976 Harikatha on Nandanar and Gandhi’

He had close acquaintance with leading exponents of Harikatha and music such as • Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar • Soolamangalam Vaithyanatha Bhagavathar • Mannargudi Chidambara Bhagavathar. • Alathur Brothers • S.Balachander • Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar • A.K.C. Natarajan

He had cordial and friendly relationship with secretaries of Sabha organisers. Notable among them were • Dr. V. Raghavan Music academy • T.S. Parthasarathy • R. Yagnaraman Krishna Gana Sabha • N. Vedantachari Naradha Gana Sabha-Karur.

He kept away from politics though political sarcasm used to be handled by him in his Harikatha without hurting anyone. The people who were instrumental for his success in his performances were his two younger brothers Raghunathan (vocal support) and Lakshminarasimhan (Mridangam) Palghat Mani Iyer, Umayalpuram Sivaraman and TK Moorthy were some of the leading Vidwans who have accompanied Embar on mridangam. Embar received many awards and titles.

A rare and unique honor which Embar got was the civic reception at the Mayavaram Municipality in the year 1975. It is doubtful if such a honour was accorded to any other artiste.

In the earlier days, the duration of a Harikatha programme lasted for nearly 4 to 5 hours, out of which the introduction called the ‘Prathama Padam or Poorvanga’ used to be for about 60 TO 90 minutes. The quintessence of the main story would be brought out in the introduction. Embar’s introduction used to be quite interesting to both intellectuals as well as laymen. His full-throated music and his subtle humour attracted many rasikas.

By dispensing with age old traditions and replacing it with Tamil songs from Kamba Ramayanam or Alwar/Nayanmmar hymns and by introducing variety of ragas including Tamil Saaki and Dindi, Embars Harikatha programs were most enjoyable for the rasikas.

George Kort is a Palestinian Jerusalemite activist and a member of PFLP, who was arrested in 24th of October 2002 by Israeli special forces in the city of Ramallah. Glossary of terms and definitions

Electroluminescence is the direct conversion of electric energy to light by a luminescent material. Subject to the kind of electric input (AC or DC) and the type of luminescent material used (organic, inorganic, powder, polymer, thin film, etc.) there are several different kinds of electroluminescence.

The LumiFlux technology relates to alternating current driven, thick film, inorganic electroluminescence (ACTFEL).

Electroluminescent (EL) lamp (as used in this presentation/website) is a solid state area light source. Light is generated by an electroluminescent material (phosphor), powered by an alternating electric field. The light emitting particle (phosphor) is sandwiched between two electrodes, one of which is transparent. Voltage across the electrodes generates an electric field exciting the phosphor particles to emit light through the entire surface of the transparent electrode.

EL lamps are thin, light-weight, cold, flexible, energy efficient, and are the most useful uniform area light sources.

LumiFlux EL lamps are constructed by depositing various layers in a sandwich-like arrangement, including back electrode, ferroelectric, phosphor, transparent electrode layers, all encapsulated in a protective, transparent envelope with external electrode connections. The layers are deposited using various polymer-based liquid inks. The thickness of all the active layers is between 70-100 microns; the total thickness of the lamps is less then 1 mm. The deposition method is based on screen-printing; it is versatile enough to create complex shapes, images, independently addressed sectors, and colours.

Light-emitting layer consist of electroluminescent phosphor particles dispersed in a dielectric media (binder).

LumiFlux EL lamps are powered by any variation between 30-200 V, 50-1000 Hz alternating current, preferably sinusoidal waveform (drive), generally supplied through an inverter, from battery or main.

Drive or driving parameters refers to AC voltage and frequency supplied to the lamp. Extra low voltage (ELV) drive means that the AC voltage is below 50V. Excessive drive: increasing the driving voltage above 140 V RMS or the frequency above 600 Hz. This drive results in accelerated deterioration and lower brightness maintenance of the EL lamps. The rate of deterioration, caused by the excessive drive is also influenced by the lamps' construction and the efficiency.

Powering EL lamps: In most cases the alternating current is supplied to the EL lamps by an inverter. The inverter (or driver) is powered either from a battery or directly from the mains. For optimum operation the inverter and the lamp should be matched: the inverter, during operation, senses the deterioration of the lamp, and continuously increases the voltage and/or frequency to maintain constant brightness. The inverters can also operate the lamps in flashing mode.

Performance characteristics of an EL lamp:

Brightness of the EL lamp is the surface luminosity expressed in fL (foot Lambert) or cd/m² (candela per square meter). 1fL=3.426 cd/m². For example: 50-80 cd/m² is the brightness value for a laptop screen. The brightness of the EL lamps depends on the driving parameters (voltage and frequency), which regulate all other operating characteristics. Initial brightness is the light emitted from the lamp, when first powered up. The brightness of EL lamps decays during continuous operation. Brightness maintenance is the percentage of the initial brightness after a given operating time. Half-life is the number of hours of continuous operation until brightness of the lamps drops to half of the initial value. Service life is the term used for the operating time until the lamps are capable of generating brightness level above the minimum, set requirement. Accumulated light output is the total amount of light delivered by the lamp for a given amount of operating time, expressed in cd/m²-hr. Power or Power consumption is the actual, true power dissipated within the lamp, expressed in mW/cm². Current draw is the flow of charge, refers to the vectorial sum of Ohmic and capacitive current, measured in mA/cm². Efficacy is the photometric term for efficiency, expressed in Lumens/ Watt (L/W). This is the brightness (luminance) in cd/m² per applied power in Watts, for a defined area in m².

                Hamza Hassan Sheikh, a forceful young romantic poet and novelist from Pakistan.[1]  He is famous for his love poems, lyrics of romance, passion and intimacy.[2]

Early Life

                Hamza was born in D.I.Khan, [3] the city located on the bank of Indus River. [4] His early childhood passed in this city. He got his early education from the government school of his town. His educational career kept in progress from one institute to another. After his bachelor, he moved towards Islamabad for higher education. He remained an active student to participate in extra-curricular activities in each institute as well he also remained the editor of literary journals of school, college and university. [5][6]

Literary Career

                  From early childhood he was good reader of children literature. He wrote first essay on Pakistan, when he was 12 years old. The essay appeared in the famous children Magazine, Taleemo-i-Tarbiat, [7] which was much appreciated and liked by readers. Afterwards he started to write short stories for children regularly.[8]  His stories appeared in children pages of all national newspapers and different children magazines. During this period, he won many writing competitions and secured many prizes and honorary certificates from different institutes. At college, when he was 15, he composed his first poem and his mind turned towards poetry. He was appreciated by different poets on his unique and direct expressions. He was much admired to present a unique idea in a very short poem. Along with poems, he also continued to write for the children. At age of 18 years, he became popular writer of children as well his poems started to appear in international literary journals. He was much admired by foreign poets for his simplicity, eloquence, directness, clarity, honesty and his total dedication towards love. He turned his full concentration towards poems and became author of book at age of 18 years. 

First Book

                        His first collection of poems Some Moments of Love [9] appeared in 2004.[10] The book was consisted upon his 45 short and long poems glittering with different romantic themes.[11] The book was highly appreciated by literary circles. His book was regarded as the evidence of revivification of romanticism and reinvention of symbols, imagery, subjectivism, joyous and painful thoughts, unfulfilled desires, pangs, perforations and deed ecstasy of a lover.[12] Some Moments of Love played a vital role in the literary career and fame of poet.  The book was not only appreciated in Pakistan, but it was highly recommended in India, England, Japan and News Zealand. The famous Indian poet Dr. Ram Krishna Singh commented on his book in such a way;

                “The poems in the volume expresses his love yearning and passionate dreams and desires effectively, bearing the marks of classical poetry in various themes. His flash of imagination renders the volume a significant contribution to poetry from sub-continent.” [13]

In 2009 [14] his 2nd collection of poems Museum of Reminiscence [15] appeared which gained the same appreciation and recommendation from the international literary circles. The book was consisted upon 60 poems [16] focusing not only on the past memories but also having the poems on social concern. His poetry transposed his combined feelings of hope, passion, anger and lasting affection. His short nature poems clearly reveal his life long love of the natural world.

His poems have also been translated into Arabic, Persian, Urdu and other regional languages.

Debut Novel

                       In 2011 [18], he joined the queue of the 21st century English novelists with his debut novel Thirst All Around.[19] The theme of the novel is based on the life of university students. The feelings of love, hypocrisy, jealousy, affection and flirtations are apparent among his all characters. [20] The novel portrayed the days and nights of students in the university campus. The diplomacy among the students to win the trust of each other also discussed beautifully. It is the story of thirsty souls who remain anxious for warmth of love but never able to get it. They parch for each other on the warm sand of the desert of solitude. The feelings of jealousy to overcome each other to gain the sympathy of their love, the struggle to win the emotions, breaking of bond of friendships and the breaking of hearts is apparent in his novel. He has also well portrayed the greed of human beings, the lust for woman and blackmailing among his minor characters which shows the opposite nature of human feelings. Contribution as Children’s Writer

                           He contributed much as the children’s writer. He got much appreciation and admiration on his unique and fascinating ideas. He secured award and honorary certificate from National Book Foundation, Ministry of Education Pakistan in 2004 [22] on his first collection of Short stories Matti Ki Khushboo. [23] In 2007, his 2nd collection of short stories Aakash Ka Jhoomar [24] and in 2008 his 3rd collection Bin Pankh Ke Panchi appeared.[25] In 2010, his 4th collection of short stories Lahoo Ki Mang [26] secured recommendation certificate from National Book Foundation, Ministry of Education, Pakistan. 

Contribution as Translator

                        He contributed much in the field of literature as a translator. He translated poetry/prose of famous Urdu poets into English as well he has also translated the regional Punjabi/Saraiki literature into English for international critics and writers to make them aware about Pakistani Literature.
