You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:AFA Sport, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. January 2019[edit]

Hello, Techrebellious. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. I'm sorry, but  Draft:AFA Sport has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11. "This applies to pages that are exclusively promotional and would need to be fundamentally rewritten to conform with Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION." These must be rewritten from scratch from "reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject." See WP:RS.

Wikipedia:Identifying blatant advertising#Typical signs of blatant advertising contains information about content to avoid. For more information on content that may be perceived as promotional, click User:Dlohcierekim/promo. These are just rough guides. Pages can avoid all those pitfalls and still be glaringly obvious ad copy. Sometimes pages meeting WP:CSD#G11 give the appearance of an editor violating Wikipedia:Conflict of interest or WP:PAID. Please read and heed them if they apply to you. Please read Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations.

There is a very common mistake of assuming that the prohibition of promotional editing applies only to promotion for commercial gain, but that is not so.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and providing verifiable information. That generally means someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see Wikipedia:Citing sources . Template:cite has templates you can use in citing your sources. Place the template {{references}} at the bottom of the page, and references cited in the text will appear there.

If you want to try again, please use the Article Wizard or articles for creation to guide you through the creation process. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems.

You may find this tool useful: Google custom search Don't feel discouraged. My first attempts at creating articles were deleted too.

There is more information at Wikipedia:Community portal. There is help available at THE TEAHOUSE. Cheers, and happy editing. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:31, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Techrebellious. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Techrebellious. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Techrebellious|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 21:32, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Afa sports moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Afa sports, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Afa sports, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:24, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't help but notice your userpage says you "help Tech entrepreneurs tell their story to the world" and the articles you created look like the kind that people often ask other people to make for them. I haven't seen any disclosure from you about this anywhere other than the possible disclosure on your userpage. Therefore the information and the question below.

Not Paid editing?[edit]

Hello Bri, thanks a lot for pointing out those points that suggest I might be involved in paid editing on some of the articles I have edited here on Wikipedia. I do not do paid editing as it is against the guidelines of this community. I only edit articles I have interest in and feel should be on Wikipedia as many big Nigerian brands are not recognized here. (PS: I have removed that possible disclosure on my userpage as the article was not approved) Techrebellious (talk) 07:18, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm curious about this. Does it mean you were compensated to create AFA Sports? ☆ Bri (talk) 14:20, 28 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No I was not, during the course of approval of the article, an editor pointed out that it sounded promotional and If I wanted the article to be approved, I should insert that on my userpage. I did as he said it it was still not approved, I just had to rewrite the article and make it neutral and then it was approved.
I'm sorry I don't understand your reply. I have posted this incident to the conflict of interest noticeboard to see if other people want to handle it. ☆ Bri (talk) 01:24, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Thanks for reaching out, perhaps someone else will understand what I meant.Techrebellious (talk) 23:14, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
