Hello! This is an account made by Malvika Jolly. I have set up this account to edit on topics of my own interests, namely to suggest changes and make small uncontroversial edits to articles related to contemporary American artists and writers. I am aware there are guidelines about editing and creating pages if there is a potential conflict of interest, so I would like to disclose here that I work for American poet and filmmaker Sarah Riggs, and for the nonprofit arts organization Tamaas, and I intend to follow all of Wikipedia's guidelines, including those on WP:COI, WP:RS, WP:V and WP:NPOV, very closely. My aim is to work with and seek advice from impartial editors to make positive contributions to articles on Anne Waldman, Alystyre Julian, and others. In the interest of transparency, I am not being compensated for making any suggestions or edits to these Wikipedia pages. On any pages where I look for assistance, I will be sure to disclose my relationship to Tamaas in the interest of transparency. If you would like to help me, please let me know. With appreciation, Malvika"

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Malvikajolly, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Draft:Alystyre Julian, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Sarah Riggs moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Sarah Riggs. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Cleo Cooper (talk) 06:32, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

April 2024[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Sarah Riggs. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Conflict of Interest: Sarah Riggs[edit]

Hello Malvikajolly,

You are receiving this message because you have violated several Wikipedia policies regarding your edits to the article, Sarah Riggs. It's great that you have acknowledged your conflict of interest, but appropriate editing with a conflict of interest requires more than just disclosure.

Notably guidelines direct users with a conflict of interest, "Do not edit or create articles about yourself, your family or friends, your organization, your clients, or your competitors." Moving forward, please adhere to the COI guidelines, including proposing changes to the Sarah Riggs article on its talk page, rather than making them directly.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
