Welcome[edit]

Hello, Greg Short, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you created was Gregory Short (executive), which appears to be an article about yourself. This is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

Help request[edit]

Hey Randykitty,

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely want to work through how to get the article accepted. While I understand the need to avoid self-aggrandizement and legitimate notability, I think this article does meet all the criteria for a legitimacy based on external sources. If the primary issue is 'tone' to the article I can certainly do a pass to further align it, but some specific feedback here would be of assistance as I already read the general 'howto' documents before the initial creation and clearly missed something based on the tags added. Look forward the feedback. If having other third parties contribute to the article is required then let me know on that front and I can ask some industry peers to review this and add their thoughts.

If this is about the Interactive Entertainment Professionals draft, then no, that draft's sources are anything but "external"; the vast majority of them are the IEP's own website. The remainder are a YouTube video by IEP, also not an independent source, and a PDF that does not mention the IEP and thus is useless as a source for an article on the IEP. There's no indication this organization meets Wikipedia's standards of notability.
If it is about the article you wrote on Gregory Short (executive), at a glance many of the sources are either not independent of Short, or they don't cover him in any detail, with passing mentions a la "Said Greg Short" common. Given your rather obvious conflict of interest, my advice would be that you should not edit that article at all, but rather suggest improvements on its talk page. People you have specifically asked to take a look at that article would probably still be considered as having a close connection to you. You may want to simply wait until people not associated with you have edited that article. Huon (talk) 21:45, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Interactive Entertainment Professionals, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:34, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Greg Short. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Interactive Entertainment Professionals".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Interactive Entertainment Professionals}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 16:19, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
