Orphaned non-free media (File:Afti Katy Garbi Video.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Afti Katy Garbi Video.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Katy Garbi plaque.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Katy Garbi plaque.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Huntster (t • @ • c) 00:01, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Screen shots and non-free images[edit]

Just a heads up, the screen shots you added on Apla Ta Pragmata should not be there. Non-free images are only used when it is extremely critical to the commentary of the article, and the presence of the images significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic. And when that is the case, they should only be used if a non-free image can not be duplicated. (Like an event that has passed). The current screenshots really add nothing to the article and the readers understanding of the music videos. Just wanted to give you a heads up on it, since they will most likely be deleted by an admin sooner rather than later. This non-free rational applies to all other non-free images too. You can sometimes get away with one, if it does in fact significantly increase the readers understanding, but not many like they currently are on Apla Ta Pragmata. As a suggestion, a better screenshot for "Viastika" would be of the car crashing into the video screens, as explained in the commentary. That might pass the non-free image rational of significantly increasing the readers understanding of the topic. But again, remember not to post excessive non-free images, and that they should not be used in most cases. (Every single does not need a music video screenshot for the readers understanding, especially if it fails to significantly increase the understanding of it, which in most cases, it does not.) Just a friendly suggestion. :) Greekboy (talk) 03:25, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (File:Viastika Vid (KGarbi).jpg)[edit]

You've uploaded File:Viastika Vid (KGarbi).jpg, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Speedy deletion of Ximerose[edit]

A tag has been placed on Ximerose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Ximerose[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ximerose, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non notable recording.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Pos Allazei O Kairos Vid (Garbi).jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Pos Allazei O Kairos Vid (Garbi).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Esena Mono[edit]

I saw that you edited Esena Mono article and removed the information about the possibility of this song being sampled from Bayatilar by Eldar Mansurov. I think this information must remain in the article until it is officially confirmed and agreed with Eldar Mansurov that this song is not taken from his Bayatilar. Because anybody who has ears for music can easily recognize the melody of Bayatilar listening to Esena Mono. You can yourself listen to different versions of Bayatilar sung for the last 20 years in different countries in following videos:

- History of Bayatılar Part 1

- History of Bayatılar Part 2

Besides, there is a trustable source in Azerbaijani that we can indicate in the article to substantiate this information. That is a program prepared by the channel Ictimai TV of Azerbaijan, which is an EBU member, called History of one song. This program every time tells the history of another Azerbaijani song which stepped over the borders of our country and gained fame in many other countries of the World. The program dedicated to Bayatilar by Eldar Mansurov is one of the series of this program where they mention also Esena Mono as one of the versions of this song. I translated some section of the 4th part of this program available on the net, the section which is followed by the clip of Kaiti Garbi:

1:28-2:16 ...Some time would past and the listener would be a witness of a new version of this song. The song called Esena Mono that appeared in the album ‘Emmones Idees’ of a Greek singer Kaiti Garbi released in 2003 was actually the song we already knew very well: Bayatilar. This version of the song gained love and demand as well as the older popular version which also had been loved by the Eastern World till then. Namely this version topped the hit parades in our fm frequencies as well: our country was not indifferent to this version. At the same period, singer presented a new Acoustic variant of the song. There is another point: Neither in the official web-site , nor in the album of Kaiti Garbi, nor in any sources about Kaiti Garbi’s singing this song, the name of the composer was indicated. We would not like to turn back again to the topic ‘Author rights’. Because everything is clear as the Sun….

The article List of best-selling albums in Greece has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Greekboy (talk) 16:15, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of best-selling albums in Greece. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of best-selling albums in Greece. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:13, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Katy Garbi Emmones Idees (To Kati) 2003.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  fetchcomms 16:01, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Katy Garbi Emmones Idees (To Kati) 2003.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Katy Garbi Emmones Idees (To Kati) 2003.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). Treated like dirt by many administrators since 2006. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:33, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
