The language you're introducing to that article is heavily slanted and, frankly, not supported by the Amazon bookselling links and other references you've introduced. Please try to gain consensus for your edits on the talk page rather than trying to force-feed your version into the encyclopedia. Dppowell (talk) 15:37, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have put your bit about the pledge at the end of the Activism section, and have formatted the reference properly.--andreasegde (talk) 15:13, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

William Dickson[edit]

Do you have an article prepared? Justin talk 13:56, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but I'm struggling with a 'cite error'. I've put it live now, perhaps someone will help me fix it. Thanks.Bopter (talk) 14:47, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have a go. Justin talk 15:06, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And done, your source appears to have a number of factual errors. Dickson wasn't a military representative, he was given the job of flying the flag. Vernet wasn't banished either, for example Brisbane his deputy returned in March of 1833. Vernet himself left in 1831 before the Lexington raid and it was only in the late 1830s when he made extravagant financial claims to the British Government that he was prevented from returning. The first military representative was actually Lt. Smith in 1834. The original intention was to police the Falklands with an annual visit by a warship and it wasn't till the Gaucho murders was a permanent presence established. Sorry but this is a common problem in Falklands articles where history is corrupted by competing modern claims. I've other reliable sources and will expand the article later. Ciao. Justin talk 15:17, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Justin, this is helpful. I'll also expand outside the initial sources I came across. Bopter (talk) 15:36, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

no indication of WP:notability. No independent WP:reliable sources.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Sorry but I reverted you edit because you can't just copy a load of prose from findagrave as you did with Margaret Burke Sheridan. We can't even verify the information, though it may be accurate, because they are not a WP:RS being contributed to by many different individuals without ant oversight. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 19:05, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. Thanks. Bopter (talk) 16:03, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
