It's sort of overwhelming - but I'm learning. In fact, I'm not sure if I should respond here or on your page. Thanks ArtProf (talk) 16:14, 4 March 2012 (UTC)ArtProf[reply]

I tried to ask the following questions in the Teahouse, but the "Ask my Question" button wouldn't work. I'm on a MAC. Is that a problem?

Anyway, my questions are: I uploaded pictures to articles last week OK, but today, only the name of the image (File:BrugesKantcentrumBobbinLace.jpg) showed when I tried to put it on the Bobbin Lace page instead of the photo. I removed it, since it did not show the image.

Another problem is that File:SisalJacaltenango.jpg says its missing permission, even though I stated that I own the copyright. I emailed several days ago, as requested, but the missing permission message is still there. I uploaded it the same way as the other photos. I don't understand why the message is there.

Thanks in advance for your help!ArtProf (talk) 16:56, 8 March 2012 (UTC)ArtProf[reply]

Hallo ArtProf, nice work on your articles. I've just had a look on Wikimedia Commons and the Sisal file has attracted notice, most likely from a bot not a human, because you said the image was already published ... and even if that was by you, the simple "I own it" isn't enough in that situation. <sigh>. So instead you have to email a full permission which I think means a Creative Commons license to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org - please go to the Sisal file page on commons and read up what is required, I think you have to fill in a form and then email it in. The file will otherwise be deleted on about the 11th March. Hope this helps Chiswick Chap (talk) 17:04, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I already filled in that form and emailed it as soon as the message popped up. I uploaded other photos that were previously published the same way without any issues. Because of the issue, I didn't add it to any articles. I guess I'll let it be deleted.

Do you have any insight about the first problem with my BrugesKantcentrumBobbinLace.jpg not working? Thanks! ArtProf (talk) 17:18, 8 March 2012 (UTC)ArtProf[reply]

No idea, it seems fine, I have put File:BrugesKantcentrumBobbinLace.jpg in the gallery at Bobbin Lace. Maybe you mis-spelt it. Chiswick Chap (talk) 21:25, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I cut and pasted the title, so it was spelled correctly. I just added the other picture again to the Bobbin Lace page, but it's not showing the photo in the gallery, just the title. This time I didn't delete it so that maybe you can see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!

Yeah, found it despite Commons' attempt to make it unsearchable... you saved the filename on Commons as .JPG in upper case! Lower case is less confusing... ;-} Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:01, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I work on several different computers and one of them automatically adds the jpg - but in caps! I'll try to remember to change it to lower case from now on. Thanks so much for figuring out the problem!

Adinkra symbols‎[edit]

It's a great addition to have the stamps photo on the Adinkra symbols‎ article, serving to illustrate the process of production. Thank you. --Annielogue (talk) 22:04, 3 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have lots of photos. Would you like me to add any photos like the ones on my Adinkra web page?

Thanks, ArtProf (talk) 16:18, 4 March 2012 (UTC)ArtPRof[reply]

Such a lot of great images... Perhaps one of the ones of Anthony printing the cloth? The big one maybe... We do have quite a lot of images in the article, but it would give us more choice. I guess the text could do with expansion too (I think I used your page to help in my editing by the way).--Annielogue (talk) 21:48, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added 2 photos. Thanks, ArtProf (talk) 23:30, 5 March 2012 (UTC)ArtProf[reply]

Thank you! --Annielogue (talk) 20:44, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've added Category:Adinkra to your three images in commons. That helps others to find them, and also the article links to the category. --Annielogue (talk) 21:04, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
