    Question from Pramodhk21 (18:03, 22 June 2024)

    [edit]

Hello, it's great to meet you. I have prepared a random article about a person who's already in the Wikipedia on his act page. Let me if I can have an article published about him? --Pramodh (talk) 18:03, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pramodhk21, whereabouts is the draft? I can look at it for you. Cheers, Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 11:44, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Mister Onion (17:51, 27 June 2024)

    [edit]

Hello, I was wondering if this would be an acceptable source to cite in this article (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vortex_power)

The article has a section “environmental impacts” under which it says the technology is still being researched. That sentence has the thingy saying “citation needed”. I found a research paper (linked at the bottom) that I thought could be cited to say “here’s a pretty recent paper, this is my proof that it is still being researched”. That doesn’t feel like the correct use of a citation to me though so I thought I would ask.

    Question from Novanotes (01:16, 4 July 2024)

    [edit]

Hi! I've contributed a number of anonymous edits, but have just registered. I recently suggested a paragraph with supporting image for Mount Everest, in its talk page, which was approved for publication. I was asked to submit the image, but I do not know how to. I asked about this in the the talk, see below, but have not received a response as yet. I have the image ready. I used Google Earth Pro, but is my own analysis. Can I post the image to the editor through my account page? Excerpt of the talk:

Not done for now: Perfectly valid request, could you provide the map you are looking to add? Geardona (talk to me?) 02:36, 1 July 2024 (UTC) Thanks for your response. How do I provide the image of the map to you? Is there a way to upload? 124.148.218.244 (talk) 13:42, 1 July 2024 (UTC) --Novanotes (talk) 01:16, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Novanotes, I'm not very good at copyright stuff unfortunately; but if you ask this at Wikipedia:Teahouse, I'm sure someone will be able to help. Cheers, Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 11:43, 4 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from The-ragi1481 (10:53, 9 July 2024)

    [edit]

    Hi Alex,

I'm a user/newbie editor here. I wanted to remove the "Plot" and "Summary" sections in the following article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriots_(1937_film)

I tried removing it and my edit was undone and instead an "unreliable sources" tag was added.

I understand that this might be the way things work around here, and that I am not an expert when it comes to movies, but I think it is silly that this film is obviously a propaganda film from Nazi Germany and the "plot" describes a resistance movement defeating the Germans.

The "unreliable sources" tag, in my opinion isn't enough of a fix for this. The sources even show a different poster (The Patriot, 2000) from the movie the page is about.

Since I am new to this, I wanted some advice on how to deal with this, since you have been assigned to me as a mentor.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Regards, The_Ragi --The-ragi1481 (talk) 10:53, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, meant to say "Plot" and "References", not "Plot" and "Summary" The-ragi1481 (talk) 11:08, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi The-ragi1481, sorry for the delay, unfortunately not sure what to suggest here. Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 13:44, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    [edit]

Curious, what makes you motivated to make so many edits? 100k is so many! --Arogowski cs (talk) 17:49, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Arogowski cs Hi it's out of wanting to help out the general public I would say. Life is busy and gets in the way sometimes, but I like working hard to help out. Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 14:48, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from Weaverenergy (19:51, 18 July 2024)

    [edit]

Hi! This article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men's_rights_movement_in_India It reads a little weird to me. But I'm not sure what should be improved? Could you please take a look and let me know if I'm wrong and if changes should be made? Thank you! --Weaverenergy (talk) 19:51, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from Pingpong947 (07:27, 19 July 2024)

    [edit]

    Hi there,

I believe I removed a poorly written part of a page a while back. Someone has left me a comment saying they removed it due to my lack of neutral point of view. I'm confused on how that works with an edit where I only removed something?

    Hope you're having a good day. Thanks. --Pingpong947 (talk) 07:27, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

    Question from Fibre H. Bundle (16:38, 19 July 2024)

    [edit]

Hi again, friendly mentor! I'm curious what I should do about the US-centrism of National Coming Out Day. My instinct was to move the page to National Coming Out Day (United States) so I started a discussion on the talk page. How long should I wait for a reply? I think the \{\{Globalize|article|US\}\} is not appropriate because it's about a United States celebration (although, it could be globalized like National Doctors' Day if such a thing exists elsewhere), but I'm not sure if this is considered an "uncontroversial" move, or how long I should wait for consensus before just moving it? Should I just go with my instinct and rename pages to "National Thingamybob (United States)" when they implicitly imply the only possible nation is the United States? --Fibre H.
