Hello. I'm Alastair Mackenzie.

This is just going to be a placeholder article (a stub?) for the moment. I'm new to Wikipedia and I'm still very much learning the ropes.

I often describe myself as an "eclectic engineer" because, although I'm a chartered engineer, I've had quite a range of different jobs -- ranging from process control engineer to business strategic planner to research & technology manager. I'm now a self-employed consultant in the areas of business and manufacturing systems analysis (or at least that's what it says on my business card -- in practice I don't stick rigidly to that definition).

My main sport is orienteering, and my wife and I also enjoy scuba diving and trekking.

I look after a few web sites, including one for my orienteering club and one for my home village of Sadberge in the north-east of England.
