A <noinclude> was temporarily placed in the template code as the Wikivoyage text was moved to the Wikimedia Foundation servers on November 10, 2012 and Wikivoyageurs are still sorting through images to move them from the travel guide to commons: Once that <noinclude> is reverted, the template will work normally. If this template does not work it may be removed in good faith by those who do not know why it has been rendered inoperative. It should also be noted that the site notices are being used so I see no reason why this template should not be used. Yes. Having questioned, I now know that it merely isn't ready yet. Thus, I will find other things to do while people who understand such issues straighten it out. Some Wikigeographers who only notice that it's broken, and don't ask, will simply give up. Such losses will be few, as long as few of us learn of the merger. Would it be practical to designate star (and maybe guide) articles on Wikivoyage when using this template? WV has some "star" quality articles to some off-the-beaten-path destinations like Kununurra, Sheki, & Big Bend National Park and it would be great if someone viewing the article here on Wikipedia could see the Wikivoyage template with, for example, a star next to it and be more attracted to click on it. The possible changes to the template to designate high-quality articles on WV could include a star with "Wikivoyage has travel information related to: [Page name]. [Page name] is among the highest-quality articles on Wikivoyage." Given it's an internal link, I figured it belonged in a "See Also" section along with the matching template for Commons content. @Syced: there's a third parameter available: use it if 'a travel guide' is not the best description of the Wikivoyage page. The three most common alternatives are 'an itinerary', 'a phrasebook', and 'a travel topic'. Hope this helps.  Seagull123  Φ  11:54, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why the Wikidata ID is appended to the URL. I don't see what this achieves beyond making the link appear colored as unvisited to readers who have already visited the Wikivoyage article.
