The children section lists underr kids "3 with Imelda" and one, seperately as "adopted". It should list 4 under Imelda, since Ferdinand Marcos and Imelda Marcos adopted their fourth child together. It's weird to single out one child as 'adopted'. 2001:1C01:4282:9E00:4890:D5F6:7B93:49B5 (talk) 13:32, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have made the necessary correction. iamdumdum 13:53, January 4, 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. And kindly remove the (adopted) behind Aimee Marcos' name, it's a bit odd and other biographies on Wikipedia do not denote whether or not a child is adopted or not, the adoption is mentioned in the personal life section but should not be mentioned in the infobox. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1C01:4282:9E00:4890:D5F6:7B93:49B5 (talk) 14:38, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
SUGGESTION: Human rights abuses subsection should be trimmed[edit]
As of writing this post, the readable prose size for Ferdinand Marcos now stands at 137kB. Many editors would now declare this article WP:TOOBIG for a regular to read.
I think that the Legacy section could need some shedding. We could start by abridging the Human rights abuses subsection (with some of its parts transferred to the dedicated "Human rights abuses of the Marcos dictatorship" article) that currently accounts for 1/4th of the Legacy section in terms of byte count. The "Abductions" and "Torture" sections of "Human Rights Abuses" could be consolidated into the main text, while the "Killings" sections can be summarized for WP:WEIGHT reasons. really? you have proof for this shitty article which is admissible by evidence not hearsay 2001:4455:6CB:1200:51F8:BC47:4A8C:DEDA (talk) 03:44, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
End of second paragraph states: "political opposition, Muslims, suspected communists, and ordinary citizens." This wording should be revised for WP:Othering. As written, it implies that the subgroups preceding "ordinary citizens" are not themselves ordinary, which is the same logic used by Marcos to persecute the subgroups.
Suggested change could look like: "political opposition, Muslims, suspected communists, and people not accused of any specific alleged wrongdoing." Flavoredquark (talk) 07:12, 20 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Simple he was being paid by President Reagan for the use of the Philippine Nuclear Power Station for his Star war program. Built by the French and leased to President Marcos the only thing he didn’t tel Reagan is it was never commissioned hahaha . Like Troops going to Vietnam! .
That was never on the Government’s accounts when he left. Because you would have thought that payments from the US Government would show up. 2A00:23CC:B492:5201:2DBC:572D:2AA3:1CFB (talk) 14:10, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There are quotation marks around the words dictator and kleptocrat in the lede.
