St petersburg[edit]

Actually, he's been monkeying about in a variety of place in Pinellas. Hopefully we can find a source. Dlohcierekim 18:31, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an encyclopedia article?!?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.254.34.82 (talk) 00:48, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all. Follow the links. This is a highly notable monkey, and somethin of a news item here in sunny Pinellas County. Dlohcierekim 00:51, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, this monkey is very real, I live in the area and they've been trying to catch this thing since early March, so yeah this deserves a place on wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.35.147.161 (talk) 13:46, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion requested[edit]

This is supposed to be an encyclopaedia, how about keeping it as such? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.87.236 (talk) 11:02, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How about you grow a sense of humor? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.79.73.27 (talk) 18:19, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Guys, this is serious business! Wikipedia has such a good reputation, too. Frankjohnson123 (talk) 23:35, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This is an encyclopedia with no boundaries. I mean, the Defenestration of Prague objectively meets notability guidelines, no? Just because it's funny doesn't mean it's not notable. 71.137.3.191 (talk) 23:39, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

how about...........damn I have nothing witty to say! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.64.199.65 (talk) 21:13, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If someone pushes this to AfD, it is obviously mergeable into Rhesus macaque#Feral colonies in the United States, though I think it might be time to create a Feral rhesus macaque article (e.g. by renaming this one) and push those and this into it. But the information should be welcome somewhere. Wnt (talk) 19:48, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm, then again, why not just do it? It'll keep the redirect. Wnt (talk) 19:49, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious[edit]

If something needs deleting, that's one thing. If it doesn't meet some standard that's another thing.

But saying something should be deleted because its a hoax without verifiable sources, when several are listed...... smells like vandalism. Though I might be missing something.

If you think something isn't encyclopedic, you don't request deletion based on lack of verifiable sources, when there are clearly sources listed. Unless someone went to the trouble of making realistic looking facsimiles of newspaper websites.

Anonymous user 78.151.87.236 sounds out of line to me, otherwise.

I've seen more notable articles get drawn into deletion debates - and if there's anything more frustrating than trying to keep your article from being deleted, it's doing it every other month until you miss one and they kill it. So I did the merge you see here. I hope you don't mind. Wnt (talk) 20:04, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tampa's Mystery Monkey is also taunting his would-be captors on Twitter [@MonkeyOnLoose] and has even started a petition asking Florida Governor Charlie Crist to pardon him.

Jordanraynor (talk) 17:01, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, no. A monkey with a Twitter account? Is this a April Fool's joke? If there actually is a campaign, please provide a reliable source. —innotata 17:16, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
