Ellen's promise to be home by Amanda's 11th birthday[edit]
The following text appears in the article and is not apparently attributed to any one source: "Ripley had promised Amanda that she would be home for her 11th birthday." Does anyone know what source this came from? — Preceding unsigned comment added by BuzzAdam472 (talk • contribs) 16:48, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The source for this is dialogue from one of the deleted scenes from Aliens that were reintegrated into the film in 1990 by director James Cameron for the Special Edition. In the scene between Ripley and Burke just prior to her disciplinary hearing by Weyland-Yutani into the events of Alien, Burke shows Ripley a picture of her daughter, now deceased. Ripley states with remorse that she had promised Amanda that she would be home for her 11th birthday. Wandered across this article Dark Horse Continues Run on "Aliens" Universe with "Aliens: Rescue" Mini-Series which says "Aliens: Rescue follows Alec Brand... as he embarks on a secret mission with Amanda Ripley ...". I haven't been reading the comics. Can someone who has been reading the Aliens comic books, please add a bit (to Wikipedia's article) about Amanda and which comics she's appeared in? --EarthFurst (talk) 00:56, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
