Description
English: Sleeping Satyr, copy made in Rome of the celebrated antique Barberini Faun, now in the Glyptothek of Munich. The statue was exhibited in public parks (Parc Monceau, Parc de Saint-Cloud, Luxembourg Gardens), thus the poor condition of the marble.
Français : Satyre endormi, copie réalisée à Rome du célèbre Faune Barberini, conservé aujourd'hui à la Glyptothèque de Munich. La statue a orné successivement plusieurs parcs publics (Parc Monceau, Parc de Saint-Cloud, Jardins du Luxembourg), ce qui explique le mauvais état du marbre.
