English: Ilkeston Junction and Cossall railway station (site), Notts/Derbys border Opened in 1870 by the Midland Railway on what is now the line from Nottingham to Sheffield, this station closed in 1967 and was demolished.
View north towards Shipley Gate and Sheffield. The station had platforms for the two tracks below the camera position, with a branch platform curving sharp left (out of view) towards Ilkeston Town, and two non-platform tracks to the far right. A new Ilkeston station opened on this site just over a year after this image was taken - see SK4742 : Ilkeston railway station, Notts/Derbys border.
