The song begins with character Kelsi who sings the song to the couple to give them the beat and rythm of the song, Gabriella starts to sing along with Kelsi where Troy joins in which leads them taken it solo then some of the various cast of the movie join in. The character Sharpay also takes on a version of her own making it faster and hippier where Troy awkwardly sings along. |

"You Are The Music In Me" is the second single released in the UK from the Original Disney Channel Movie, "High School Musical 2".
The song is similair to the song in the first movie (High School Musical), "Start of Something New" where Troy and Gabriella take the song solo.
