Mission

The mission of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design is to:

  • To research design principles and the evolution of design.
  • To further the profession of design, its status in society, and the protection of intellectual property rights.
  • To further design education and the continuing development of practising designers.
  • To promote design activities and well-designed products, services and systems in the world’s regions.
  • To develop a better understanding of design for the benefit of all human beings.

Today, Icsid facilitates co-operation and interaction among its Member Societies, providing a global force through which independent organisations can combine resources and efforts.

Members

Icsid Members are professional associations, promotional societies, educational institutions, government bodies, corporations and institutions, which aim to contribute to the development of the profession of industrial design. These societies collaborate to establish an international platform through which design institutions worldwide can stay in touch, share common interests and new experiences, and be heard as a powerful voice.
