If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests

Hi, I've had a look. The official website does have the comma in question. But the sources cited in the article don't. Dr. Vogel (talk) 21:07, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@DrVogel: It has a comma in the statute: https://law.justia.com/codes/alaska/2012/title-44/chapter-44.33/article-01/section-44.33.118/ ; in American English (and this is a state organ of Alaska), it's proper to use the serial comma; when if sources omit the serial comma, it's just an orthographic error. Edit: also, here's a secondary source. Edit2: The sources cited in the article do have the comma, in fact. —Alalch E. 21:35, 5 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I can see you've changed the sources. When you do things like changing the sources, it's probably best to add a new comment rather than edit your previous comment. About the move itself, I'll leave it here to be looked into by an American colleague. Dr. Vogel (talk) 00:30, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your assistance thus far. (I'll just make a final note that I probably haven't changed the existing sources substantively [the "sources" were just the pages of the same official site anyway, which does include the comma in the name], just formatted the references, and added new sources.)—Alalch E. 01:14, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
