    Jikirum Adjaluddin wikipedia details/info

Jikirum Adjaluddin wikipedia details/info are partially wrong. He didn't die at young age. he even serve the country as a decorated soldier. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2400:4151:8341:1D00:A125:A86C:AD31:41BF (talk) 00:04, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

if you have suggestions to improve the article, you can start a discussion on the article's talk page. There may be more than one person by that name, so perhaps the article is not about the person you have in mind. RudolfRed (talk) 00:29, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Courtesy link: Jikirum Adjaluddin. The infobox states he died aged 26 – that seems quite young to me (though the article makes no textual comment to that effect), but is nevertheless easily old enough for him to have served militarily (though the article makes no mention of this either); my father was in action at the age of 19. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.209.123.164 (talk) 05:06, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Weird talk page

I found a talk page, User talk:Tunakanski, and there's a message from someone calling the user cringe and someone replying "go fuck yourself". and apparently these users know eachother IRL or something, according to this and their user page has "weezer is ass", is this allowed on Wikipedia? --The Tips of Apmh 02:00, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@The Tips of Apmh: Personal attacks are not allowed, but if these users are using it in a friendly way then it is OK. RudolfRed (talk) 02:18, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ref number 10 should say the author's name - it is a journal. Please fix. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.70.23.77 (talk) 02:50, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

First, you don't say what name should be added. Second, you can fix this yourself. Add |last1=LASTNAME | first1=FIRSTNAME| into the {{Cite journal}} there (click for more details) and that will put the name in. RudolfRed (talk) 03:42, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Third, it doesn't look like a journal. GoingBatty (talk) 03:44, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Georgian help needed

I would like to write a Wikipedia article about chashushuli, a tasty Georgian dish I have eaten recently. However, I am having trouble finding any material or references about it. Neither the English or the Finnish Wikipedia has an article about it, and all Google turns up about it are recipes. I have looked at the Georgian Wikipedia's article about Georgian cuisine, but the problem is that not only do I not understand Georgian, I can't even read the alphabet. If there is even some article at the Georgian Wikipedia where the dish is mentioned I could machine-translate it to English and use that as basis for writing my own English article. Could someone point me in the right direction? JIP | Talk 03:33, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@JIP: You might try posting on the talk page of Wikipedia:WikiProject Georgia (country). As a long shot, you might try asking Labrang, since that user's page indicates a strong interest in Georgia. I found the user by looking at contributions to the Georgia (country) article. -Arch dude (talk) 05:27, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for pinging me. I am not a cuisine storyteller really ;-). Will check some later today a book that I have if it has something more than a recipe, but background stories are hard to get by generally, @JIP. --Labrang (talk) 10:54, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, JIP. I tried searching for ჩაშუშული and ჭაშუშული (which are the most plausible transcriptions of chashushuli) in ka-wiki, but neither found anything. There's nothing with that name in ka:კატეგორია:ქართული სამზარეულო which is the Georgian counterpart to category:Cuisine of Georgia (country). The nearest is ka:ჩაქაფული which is Chakapuli. There are some subcategories I haven't looked into. --ColinFine (talk) 13:51, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And the Georgion "Cuisine of Georgia" article is divided (as the English one is) into different regions, but the heading ქართლი (= Gerogian) has only a single paragraph, and points to a redlinked article ქართლის სამზარეულო.--ColinFine (talk) 14:45, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Detail grade in infoboxes

Is there some general information available on how detailed the contents of an infobox should be? I thought an infobox should provide a very brief summary of a few core facts, but it might well be that extensive infoboxes are desirable - I never stumbled across any info on the "philosophy" behind infoboxes. (The trigger was the infobox in this article.) Thanks and kind regards, Grueslayer 13:15, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I suspect that all youll find is at WP:Infoboxes, and perhaps at its talk page, Grueslayer. --ColinFine (talk) 13:55, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Grueslayer: ...and in the template documentation for each infobox. GoingBatty (talk) 14:17, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Grueslayer: In some science articles, especially for chemicals (including medicines), infoboxes can be and often are very large. This is because they deliberately contain the very many cross-references to science databases and routine properties, which if placed in the main text would make it very tedious for readers. The data in infoboxes is machine-readable because it takes a standard format, which helps search engines make the correct links. See Vitamin B12 and pyridine for examples. Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:53, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! The pyridine infobox is also quite long, but for a reason as you pointed out. I found Help:Infobox#What should an infobox not contain? which reminds to keep them brief - guess I'll stick to that when using one that offers a large amount of parameters. Kind regards, Grueslayer 17:54, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I personally just use every parameter that can apply, but that may not be a good way to go about it. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 05:28, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IP making lots of edits to page

Hello! I came across the article Pixel art while looking through recent changes and it appears 1 IP address has been making many changes to the article. I can't tell if the edits are constructive or not because of the sheer amount of edits the IP has made which is making it hard for me to identify a good revision. Could someone help me out on this? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 15:46, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze Wolf: I've left the IP a warning at their talk page asking they use the preview button in the future. Aside from that, there is not best way to check for good or bad edits in situations like this besides comparing how the article was before they begun working on it and how it is now, and verifying what was changed. From a quick glance, it's mostly the software list being refactored. It's for editors to choose whether that refactoring is constructive or disruptive to the article, and discuss in the talk page if needed. Isabelle 🔔 16:00, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Isabelle Belato: Alright thank you! Situations like this always bother me because it makes determining the good edits harder because so many of the recent edits have been made by a single user, sometimes with other users intermixed making it even harder. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:02, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Blaze Wolf:: I know nothing about the topic either but the edits appear constructive. The Preview suggestion is good because some of the edits are corrections that could be avoided with visual proofing. Then again, is the IP going to check his/her Talk page? Worth another look in a day or so. Allreet (talk) 05:27, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to edit a already created page using the sandbox feature and not directly editing.

I would like to edit the Jacobi medical center page but i am inexperienced and would instead like to edit it under sandbox before actually editing it. Megabits13 (talk) 15:50, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Megabits13[reply]

Megabits13 If you would like, you may simply propose what you wish to do on the article talk page. If you would like to do it yourself, you can copy and paste the text into your sandbox and then practice editing it. If you make a mistake in editing the actual article, do not feel bad; it can be easily reversed. 331dot (talk) 16:05, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Megabits13. If you want to test your edits to an article, you can either directly edit it and use the preview button to see how it looks before saving or, if you plan on working on it for a longer period of time, you can always copy and paste the content to a personal sandbox (usually at Special:Mypage/sandbox), where you can edit freely. After you are done with your sandbox, apply those changes to the article at main space, taking care not to undo any new edits that might've been made to it in the meantime. Unsolicited welcome for joining Malay Wikipedia

This morning I got an email that pointed me to a note on my talk page that said, "Thanks for joining Malay Wikipedia". While I have a personal interest in Malaysia, I do not recall explicitly joining anything other than en.wikipedia.org. I don't even know if there's really a difference between Wikipedia sites, in terms of identity and access management. I am suspicious, however, to have randomly received this message. Any idea of what might be going on? Jyg (talk) 18:12, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Format Company Pages

I noticed some company pages have a "controversies" section while others don't. The same section is sometimes called "litigation" or "lawsuits". Would it be acceptable to rename those sections to "controversies" or "controversies and criticism"? People would then be able to add cases not involving litigation on every page, avoiding confusion and discrimination. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A03F:8B17:1B00:A9CC:145E:BE9C:4C61 (talk) 20:58, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, IP user. The consensus, I believe is not have a "controversies" section in any article, whether it is about a company or anything else. See WP:Controversy sections. --ColinFine (talk) 22:01, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The addition of routine lawsuits is often a tell of a competitor trying to make a rival look bad. WP:UNDUE addresses this. I've also seen disgruntled customers angry after a bad customer service experience, and try to add negative info about the event as a "controversy". A single incident does not a pattern make, so keep an eye out for those types of edits also. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 00:45, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Lawsuits against companies may have nothing whatsoever to do with their competition, for example, product liability suits by consumers or civil suits filed by the government. While the reliability of sources is one question, we also have to be concerned about the motivations of editors who could have their own axes to grind, since just about every large company has faced litigation of some sort. WP:UNDUE/WP:NPOV doesn't really help in certain ways. For example, news media may report cases (providing us with sources) but their stories tend to "go away" for all but the most egregious of cases. By contrast, what we publish becomes relatively permanent, since on our pages notability does not diminish with time. I have no answers to any of that other than such things need to be considered. Allreet (talk) 01:19, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still very confused. Let me try and clarify using examples:

    https://www.latimes.com/food/sns-dailymeal-1868348-drink-monster-energy-sued-by-former-employees-over-harassment-claims-012618-20180126-story.html

https://www.courthousenews.com/mcgraw-hill-sued-over-sps-fall-from-grace/ (Article concerns McGraw Hill's role in the financial crisis. Company is now named S&P Global Inc)

Which of these should never appear on a company page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A03F:8B17:1B00:F94B:E88E:C341:2365 (talk) 19:34, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Format Company Pages 2

Would it be appropriate to either add or edit a "controversies" section if you avoid the following: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations#The_article_on_me/my_organization_is_an_attack._What_can_I_do?

Or is it more appropriate to add such sections as "litigation"? I'm not sure what that would mean for large sections on the Apple, Mastercard, and Visa pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A03F:8B17:1B00:7CDC:4F13:84D8:8E87 (talk) 12:26, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    IP WhoIs location changed?

Hello! I recently came across an IP who had the shared IP edu template saying the IP is from the University of Nebraska (which I had previously changed to be UNL only to realize that's most likely incorrect, but it was originally non-specific) which was added by a user who has since passed away. I took a look at the WhoIs and it appears to have changed to be a different location (didn't necessarily say it was school district but looking at another IP from a school in Nebraska the provider appears to be a school internet provider), however this is the first time I've seen an IP being changed to a different location. Is this something that can happen or would it most likely just be a mistake from the now-deceased user who added the template? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 21:05, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blaze Wolf: It can happen. Blocks of IP addresses can get reassigned to different companies or ISPs. Also, Geolocation is an imperfect art. See Internet_geolocation#Errors. An extreme example is 600 million IP addresses that were "relocated" to a farm in Kansas. RudolfRed (talk) 23:16, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Acceptance of photo upload

Could anyone please help troubleshoot? The owner of the photo is trying to upload a freely licensed photo. Hello I have been trying to upload the image onto Wikipedia with no success, this is the message I get: Something went wrong We could not determine whether this file is suitable for Wikimedia Commons. Please only upload photos that you took yourself with your camera, or see what else is acceptable. See the guide to make sure the file is acceptable and learn how to upload it on Wikimedia Commons.

I log in and find the system to upload, check the box that says it is my own work, then push Save. The next panel asks for file name, description etc, then I push save and I get that message. I see the button for publish but it is not active, so nothing happens. GoingBatty (talk) 03:32, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Hi GoingBatty!

Thank you for your help. I am absolutely brand new to Wikipedia. I don't know exactly what page I am on, but I know which step I am on in the process... article draft- now it is in the phase of having been submitted and is now waiting for review- I was able to successfully upload a photo. However, the article is about a living person who requested that I change the photo to one taken by a photographer. The original photographer/owner of the photo gave me permission to do so. When I tried, Wikipedia would not accept the accepted licensing designation. So, the actual photographer and original owner of the photo tried to do it through his own Wikipedia account. He was unable to do it either. The error message is a result of original owner of the photo trying to upload it to the article draft. Thank you for any information you have about either how to do it now, or at what point in the future of the process, the option to use the photo will be available. Postmodern Aesthetics (talk) 21:25, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Postmodern Aesthetics: It's hard to troubleshoot the issue without details. What is the URL of the page where the photographer started. What steps worked well? What is the URL of the page where the photographer received the error? What information did the photographer enter on the page? What was the exact error message? GoingBatty (talk) 21:36, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so very much for your patience. I will request the page URL info and post it as soon as it is received. Postmodern Aesthetics (talk) 21:46, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Postmodern Aesthetics: You shouldn't "check the box that says it is my own work" if you did not take the picture. Experienced editors (I'm not that experienced but I know a few things) will tell you that permission, given to you, from the photographer who took the picture is not sufficient -- the picture needs to have its rights released by the photographer for anyone to reuse, commercially or not, worldwide. You cannot perform that release yourself. 73.127.147.187 (talk) 06:53, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this clarification. I understand what you mean. My first message above isn't clear. The owner and original photographer are one and the same. The statement "I log in..." is from the photographer/owner to me. I used his message to send the inquiry to the help desk as he was asking me what to do, and I have no idea. How can I publicize a RfC more widely?

I posted a RfC a week ago. Only 2-3 editors have responded. I would really like to put this to rest because it involves changes that have been made to 25+ additional articles. Only one of these is "high profile", and that's where the RfC is posted, but I'm concerned the material from that article is being "echoed" (if that's the term) by other websites. Meanwhile, I did post requests on two extra project talk pages. Is there more I can do? Thanks. Allreet (talk) 05:37, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pageantpros It is difficult to help you without knowing the article involved. Note that only administrators can delete pages and articles, and cannot just do so on a whim. I'm not saying that what you claim is impossible, but the processes we have should be preventing such vengeful editing. 331dot (talk) 08:32, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Pageantpros. I'm sorry your friend is subject to an abusive relationship, but please note that it was not "her page", it was Wikipedia's article about her, and subject to Wikipedia's rules and policies. If she dos not meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability (and most of us don't!) then the article never should have been created, and would get deleted when somebody noticed. As 331dot says, if you tell us which article, we can investigate further. --ColinFine (talk) 10:08, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article ends, stating that Bangladeshis were not responsible. After the arrests of the accused, who were convicted, there is an editor's note that the article was written before the arrest. The editor's note was added after the conviction, initially, it was not there.

Contrary to what she wrote, actually, a Bangladeshi was convicted not locals.

Request for removing the deletion nominations of the articles deleted long back by the user who gave those nominations from my user talk page as they are filling space

I am a user of Wikipedia . May I draw your attention towards my request for removing the deletion nominations of the articles deleted long back by the user who gave those nominations from my user talk page as they are filling space.

This is to tell you that I had joined Wikipedia five years ago in the month of April and it's from then I saw that the articles written by me had got speedy deletion nominations as they required original research , references and additional citations and just because I did not understand and unknowingly used to remove the maintenance templates I was given warnings as to not remove them without resolving that particular issue . I then realized my mistake and then did not do any such thing and I did not write any such article again without references , citations and on biographies of living persons after the articles which were nominated for deletion were finally challenged and removed from Wikipedia without knowledge . I did obey all the warnings given to me for my safety.
So now as I have learnt my lesson and how Wikipedia actually works I request you to remove all those deletion nominations of the articles which were deleted long back after they were nominated for deletion from my user talk page.
I hope you would do the needful and oblige. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MukKausheeki (talk • contribs) 07:48, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rules about using [donated] artwork for a biography if a photo doesn't exist

    Hi there,
I don't know the rules in the English Wikipedia, that's why I'm asking: Is there are rule about the possibility of using an artwork, like a commissioned painting or drawing, for a biographical article, if there's no photo available? In the German Wikipedia, it's forbidden because of original research. WhaT's the state here? Thanks, --Jcornelius (talk) 14:17, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Jcornelius: Hi there! For living people, it's not permitted because it's theoretically possible for someone to take a photograph and upload it. For deceased people, artwork is OK, like George Washington. GoingBatty (talk) 16:28, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, Jcornelius, there is precedent for what you propose. Until his diplomatic efforts in 2018, there was no freely licensed photo of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. For quite a while, the artistic work File:Kim Jong-Un Photorealistic-Sketch.jpg was the lead image in the article. Cullen328 (talk) 19:17, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot to both of you, @GoingBatty: and @Cullen328:! The German-speaking Wikipedia community is indeed much stricter on that, as drawings are either considered copyright infringement (when 'copied'/drawn after something already existing) or original research (as based on the fantasy of the artist). Cheers, --Jcornelius (talk) 01:18, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Jcornelius and GoingBatty here are some additional thoughts about this interesting issue. The main reason why it is OK to use public domain paintings in George Washington is not because he is dead, but because photography was not yet invented when he was alive. Consider the 5th and 6th presidents of the United States, James Monroe and John Quincy Adams. Monroe died in 1831 and practical photography was invented in 1839 in the form of the daguerreotype, so his biography relies on paintings of him. Adams lived until 1848, so we can use the outstanding photo of him taken by Matthew Nrady in the years before his death, and his biography also includes two other photos from his final years. Paintings and an etching are used to illustrate his younger years. As for the policy of the German Wikipedia, I do not know anything about that except what has been stated here. I will say, though, that a skilled portrait painter can study many photos and videos of a person, and then paint an original detailed accurate portrait that is not in any way a copyright violation or a "fantasy". If you meet Wikipedia's criteria for notability, then somebody could write an article about you: ideally, you should not write it. Whoever writes such an article, it will not be your article, and will not be for you to promote or publicise yourself. Please also see an article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing. --ColinFine (talk) 12:30, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to read Wikipedia:So you made a userspace draft or Wikipedia:Your first article for more information. However, I can tell you that if you posted this article to the main article space, it would be quickly deleted. That is because it does not follow the MOST IMPORTANT rule at Wikipedia for articles. See WP:42, which in a nutshell says that an article should only exist if the subject of the article has been the subject of significant independent writing outside of Wikipedia. That means that people who have no connection to the subject have written about it extensively and that writing has been done in reliable sources. Your new article shows no sources whatsoever. We need to know where the information comes from, and if it only comes from the company itself, then it is not appropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia. --Jayron32 12:49, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That page is not appropriate for a user page, and would be liable for deletion under criterion U5. --David Biddulph (talk) 13:55, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Eh. It's clearly an attempted article draft. A poor one that needs a lot of work, and possibly may even have little chance of getting to the article state, but it is a draft. --Jayron32 14:05, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved the draft article to Draft:Banco Finantia. Thank you for disclosing the fact that you were paid to create that draft. As others have mentioned, the draft as it stands will not be accepted because you don't cite any sources. I have provided some additional information on your talk page, but in short, please cite some sources for the information in the draft. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 14:15, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And José Catalão subsequently moved it to Finantia Bank, which as a paid contributor they should not have done (see WP:COIEDIT). --ColinFine (talk) 17:33, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if you'd like a source reviewed, WP:RSN is the place to do it. Lots of people add lots of things to Wikipedia every second of every day. Sometimes, what they add is shit. That doesn't mean it should be there or used as a standard of propriety. In other words, just because you find something wrong in Wikipedia doesn't mean you should add more wrong things. Thanks for the clarification! I went to the Batman article and clicked the "Download as PDF" and downloaded it. I then opened the file in Foxit PDF Reader (I don't use Adobe Reader), scrolled half way down, and closed the program. I then reopened the file in Foxit Reader, and it opened it where I left off. For which articles are you experiencing this issue? GoingBatty (talk) 01:03, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Road to 30/500

I would like to know, is there anyway I can view the number of edits I have made? Hcoder3104 (talk) 20:15, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hcoder3104: Yes. At the bottom of Special:Contributions/Hcoder3104 there is a link to a page that shows your edit count and other stats. RudolfRed (talk) 20:20, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Thanks! Hcoder3104 (talk) 20:25, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RudolfRed I am unable to locate the page link. What would it be tagged as? Hcoder3104 (talk) 20:28, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hcoder3104: The link RudolfRed referred to is called "Edit count".
You can also click on the Preferences link at the top right of any page to see your number of edits and when you registered. GoingBatty (talk) 20:31, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hcoder3104: I see you are Canadian. The link and many other customized parts of the interface disappear if you have chosen Canadian English as language at Special:Preferences. The default English works better. PrimeHunter (talk) 20:49, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to eventually publish my edits

Hi, I'm a new user so, sorry, I might be asking some very basic questions, pardon me. But I am the president of a community theater that has been successful for over 25 years. I'm finally trying to create a Wikipedia page for our theater. So I created a login, then subsequently logged in, and then created the page for our theater, which is The Actors' Group. I'm continuously updating it in the edit function by writing a bit and then publishing it (it will take me some time to finish as I'm dedicating just an hour or so mostly every day and I envision a very long page). But as I've been doing this it has dawned on me as to how do I eventually submit it to you for your review? Do I need to do something else? I see the sandbox and I don't know if I've done anything there or need to. Sorry, if you could provide some clarity as I don't want to write a Bible on the page and then realize I should've done something else, know what I mean? Thank you so much! EricEnemoto (talk) 20:30, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Enemoto: Hi Eric! No need to apologize for asking questions - that's what this page is for! If you haven't done so already, I suggest you review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest (COI), and declare your COI on your user page.
When you're ready to have the page reviewed, you can move it from User:Enemoto/sandbox/The Actors' Group to Draft:The Actors' Group and add {{subst:submit}} to the top. However, if you were to submit your draft as is, it would quickly be declined because is has no references. Wikipedia articles need to be based on multiple independent reliable sources that provide significant coverage about the topic, not based on your own knowledge. When writing a draft of an article, an editor should first gather the references and them summarize/paraphrase what they state. For lots more information, please read Wikipedia:Your first article. Hope this helps! GoingBatty (talk) 20:38, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Enemoto: Also, is File:Eric Nemoto.jpg really your "own work", or is is just a photograph of a screen showing your IMDb photo? Wikipedia has strong policies about copyright - see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. GoingBatty (talk) 20:43, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Enemoto. I'm sorry to break this to you, but I'm afraid you have made the classic beginner's mistake in creating an article, of writing what you know rather than finding independent sources. Wikipedia has little interest in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is almost entirely interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources. If enough material is cited from independent sources to establish notability, a limited amount of uncontroversial factual information may be added from non-independent sources. I suggest you save all the text you have written, to publish it elsewhere, and begin again by finding independent sources that discuss your theatre in depth, and write an article based entirely on what they say, not on what you know. --ColinFine (talk) 00:08, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Alice in Wonderland syndrome

I want to add research data to Alice in Wonderland syndrome. Can you help me? Best wishes Stefan— Preceding unsigned comment added by Stefan Bittmann (talk • contribs)

Not if it's unpublished research. See WP:No original research. Clarityfiend (talk) 22:55, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)Stefan Bittmann Alice in Wonderland syndrome is open for you to edit. Please remember to cite your sources for all information you add to it. If you don't know how to cite sources, here is a beginner's guide to citing sources. Please also familiarize yourself with our policy on original research, and do not add research data that you collected from experiments you did yourself. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 22:59, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

    Removing the definite article

As a good little Wikipedian, I recently moved the article 'The Orchid Line' to Orchid Line, as per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite or indefinite article at beginning of name). I have since realised that the article is linked (and remains linked) to a Wikidata item The Orchid Line, and to a Commons:Category:The Orchid Line.

I note that the Wikipedia policy refers specifically to 'articles'. Does the Wikipedia policy cover Wikidata and Commons? Even if not, do I have any moral obligation to keep those titles in sync? --Verbarson talkedits 23:09, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, as Wikidata and Commons are different projects and not bound by en.wp's policies. (This also applies to other language editions of Wikipedia.) —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 23:38, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also note, Verbarson, that both Commons and Wikidata are multilingual projects, so the title of an item in one particular language is not of any great significance. In Wikidata, it is the D number that identifies the item, and labels in different languages may be added (and edited). I'm not sure how this works in Commons categories. --ColinFine (talk) 00:12, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I was wrong about Commons categories: C:COM:Categories#Category names says Category names should generally be in English. --ColinFine (talk) 00:17, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Congressional Gold Medal Page & Addition of Ghost Army

I want to add the Ghost Army insignia to my entry about the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal to the 23rd Headquarters that President Biden signed into law on 2/1/22. The file ghostarmypatch.jpg already resides on Wikipedia. How can I import this file to the Congressional Gold Medal Page?
