Polaris also documented as the North Star by the Library of Congress is an open access e-journal collective. The quarterly catalogue as a periodical was launched by Visual Collaborative.[1] In the spring of 2019 releasing the first volume, it featured practitioners of various disciplines from the United States, Europe and African metropolitan cites such as Lagos and Cairo. Articles from the catalog received coverage from various news media for highlighting the intersections of people, commerce and innovation.[2][3]

Publication history

In 2019 serving as the guest Chief Editor, the Polaris North Star catalogue and its writing style was created by Ade Abayomi Olufeko, he led the production releasing a set of interviews with 170 minutes of non-linear content.[2] The interdisciplinary collective featured 26 practitioners from three continents.[4] The Polaris catalogue explores creative disciplines, perspectives and intrinsic value of the featured practitioners and how they interact with society.[5] The project commenced in the Winter of 2019 for a period of three months. The initiative is said to have been designed to iterate over time for content providers in the private sector, academic institutions and incubators.[6]
