I wanted to tell you that this is the funniest talk page I have read in a long time. You've got the trolls all over you. Just an FYI, the PM is elected, but he is elected by the members of Parliament. The Queen's functions are the functions of state - ie entertaining foreign dignataries and does have some weight in directing foreign policy, but does not usually exercise that. The powers are usually exercised only on rare occasions, the handover of Hong Kong to the Chinese government for instance was a matter of state in which the monarchy assisted a great deal. --Strothra 23:38, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am a new user, who was once a vandal and converted. I am an atheist and do not agree with Christianity at all. But I do think you could have been nicer in your "Vandal Wars". You chased away many users because you attacked them. They had not even been registared but a few days. One of Wikipedias rules is "Dont bite the newbies". I did not chase them away, they all came onto my user page and began ranting about how I am apparently not nice to people, all starting because I gave a warning about blanking the Da Vinci Code article. All those people did was bitch to me and American Brit about stuff, and vandalise. If I "chased them away", which I doubt I did, then at least Wikipedia has less vandals. I am not atheist, I am Satanist. But in answer to your question, yes, I would be angry at anyone who vandalises any article, even if it's an article about something I don't like. Here's an example. I dislike the band Trivium, usually for commercial reasons. Yeah, I think they sold out, etc. and I hope that they flop. But, I recently had their page semi protected, as you can see here. Wow, the vandalism to a userpage that can be reverted with the click of a button really breaks my heart. Cheers EVula for the quick revert on both here and my User Page, and also thanks to Gwernol for reverting the other random crap on my User Page. I need to start a tally of how many vandalisms I've recieved I think.... It's also pretty funny how five days ago the same vandel said:

Ah, it appears that they are different IP's, and so forgive me for only glancing at the first part of the IP. A reasonable explination would be that someone is using a proxy, but I am not gonna' go throwing around accusations, although it seems odd that the vandel is defending the other. I wonder if the other would be able to post under that IP now? Either way, refrain from the personal attacks. Wouldn't want EVula banning you again, would we? Yeah I considered the exact same thing. But, using a proxy, I have noticed, only seems to change the last few bits of the IP. There's an IP vandel who attacks certain Mortal Kombat, Simpsons and Family Guy pages, as well as some others, changing the information to false crap. He is unable to be banned because he changed his IP after each attack, but the first half of the number remains the same; which I'm guessing could be happening here. First off, I have not been "screaming" at them, simply showing them some pity. Patronizing as it may be. I have been plenty calm, as far as I can see. Next, the swearing. The profanity I have used has been linking to an actual WP essay (WP:FUCK), and it's not as if swearing is against the rules of Wikipedia. My shared IP at College has an expiry time of 6 months because some idiots think it's cool to vandalise Wikipedia, and boy I tell you, it's annoying. So thankfully, he will keep coming back to Wikipedia in the next few weeks hoping to make an edit or vandalism, only to realise he's blocked. No, it does not ban Christmas. It infact encourages you to celebrate any holiday you wish, save the religious part of it -- So I do not celebrate the birth of Christ. The only holidays Satanists are encouraged to celebrate are Walpurgisnacht, when the Church of Satan was founded (even this is optional), and one's own birthday, as this is the most important day of all. You responded to my removal of a passage from this article with a note stating that this was "vandalism." I beg to differ.

Wikipedia defines vandalism as: any addition, deletion, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia. IMHO, removing questionable and potentially libelous content contributes to the integrity of Wikipedia.

Wikipedia guidelines also state: Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia. For example, adding a personal opinion once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated.

Apologies accepted. It was indeed an honest edit. The study has been quite controversial as it's construction and presentation did not meet the fundamental requirements of good science. Also, many of Nussbaum's comments within the article are blatantly biased and inaccurate. I think it should be removed, but if you have ideas as to how it can be improved, I'm willing to hear them.

All I can suggest to you is to look up some of the editing advice pages and for you to be bold in editing pages. I don't know anything about the subject at hand, and so if you arn't sure, your best bet is discussing it more on the talk page -- that's all the advice I can give. Sir, I regret to say that the few days preceding this past weekend were days of a particular unpleasant type, specifically including temporary loss of my ability to generate coherent speech, something which I try to ensure happens only very rarely. It was aggravated by the fact that the only way for me to even maintain speech under adverse conditions is to physiologically "tense up" rather a lot, so that under such circumstances the old neuromuscular system is basically twanging like a bunch of piano strings. If my comments on the Satanism page struck you as being uncalled for and outside the bounds of good taste, you have my sincerest apologies. Also, I acknowledge that this particular subject falls outside my own individual area of specific expertise, and am more than grateful to you for all of your contributions to date on these articles. Lastly, if you would find such of interest, the goals of the new Religion project are to ensure that wikipedia's content on all the creeds in the history of the world, including Satanism and all practices of the Left-Hand Path, receive greater attention, in the hope of improving these articles to the highest standards possible, and also, if there is sufficient interest, to attempt to create subprojects or other projects dealing with the individual faiths we work with, including Satanism and its related creeds. We would be very happy if you were to consider joining, or, if you find for whatever reason you are not so inclined, to perhaps be willing to work with a project on Satanism in particular should it ever be created. My own personal beliefs tend to be of the orthodox Catholic persuasion, but I do adamantly believe that my own personal opinions should in no way color the content of wikipedia, and will attempt to remain completely objective in regards to such matters as much as possible.
