Englishes differ, slightly. "Center" is normal in the US and elsewhere. "Centre" is normal in Britain and elsewhere. Sometimes it's appropriate to change the one to the other: when doing so is in accordance with this guideline. Otherwise, it's inappropriate. -- Hoary (talk) 06:35, 14 December 2022 (UTC) |

You are off to a bad start: Speedy deletion of a draft because it was a copyright infringement; declined draft because it was submitted with no references, editing other people's comments on Talk pages, and almost all of your other edits reverted for various reasons, including lack of references. Please slow down. You have attracted the attention of several highly experienced editors who are in effect watching your every move. Several editors have included blue-colored words in their responses. Those are Wikilinks to Wikipedia guidelines. Most new editors start with a high error rate until they become experienced. I hope your learning curve leads you to becoming a productive contributing editor. David notMD (talk) 12:10, 14 December 2022 (UTC) |
Revision as of 12:10, 14 December 2022
Hello.
If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
The page Draft:The lyrics of e eats everything. has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from copyright song lyrics. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. — Diannaa (talk) 01:13, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Your edit of Gyros (Special:Diff/1127131433) was bad, as it broke several things in the article, and I reverted it. Please try making small edits for a while and preview, to see if everything is fine. I respect that you want to make good changes, but it will take a while for you to figure out the technical side of things. Kind regards, twsabin 01:59, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- Same goes for Special:Diff/1127131928. Small changes please, and do see Help:Getting started :) twsabin 02:01, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Dear Grammarly, It seems like you're not adding images when copying, please fix it.
- Sadly, Grammarly can't help you with that. You are damaging articles in several other ways by copying text from Grammarly into the browser, that you aren't even aware of. It's not the right way to do it :) twsabin 02:10, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
- Also...
- Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. twsabin 02:15, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm HighPriestDuncan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Church of the Holy Agony (New York City), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. HighPriestDuncan (talk) 01:04, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

Spellings
(prompted by this)
"Center" is of course a perfectly good spelling. And so is "centre".
Englishes differ, slightly. "Center" is normal in the US and elsewhere. "Centre" is normal in Britain and elsewhere. Sometimes it's appropriate to change the one to the other: when doing so is in accordance with this guideline. Otherwise, it's inappropriate. -- Hoary (talk) 06:35, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
