The Game of Alice in Wonderland is a traditional card game published in 1882 by Selchow and Righter.[1] It is the first game,[2] based on the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The cards feature colorized illustrations based on the original Sir John Tenniel illustrations.

Rules and gameplay

[3] The game contains 52 cards divided into three sets. Set one consists of picture cards numbered 1 to 16 with a star in the corner. Set two consists of 16 picture cards without a star, numbered 1 to 16. And set three consists of 20 number cards, numbered 1 to 20.

The two sets of picture cards form pairs by matching their numbers. Each set takes by its number. The higher cards take the lower ones. Star cards take each other according to their numbers, and both the other sets, whether their numbers are high or low. Plain Picture Cards take each other according to their numbers, and all number cards. Number cards take each other according to their numbers.
