Updating world map

Hi all, I am posting here again to ask for help updating the world map. Dormskirk was kind enough to assist me in updating this earlier this year and I have since prepared an up-to-date map showing the countries where Accenture operates as of September 2015.

You can find the new image here: File:Accenture operations as of 9-30-15.png

Please note that I have a conflict of interest as I am making this request on behalf of Accenture. To clarify my previous disclosures on this page: I work for Beutler Ink, via which I am currently contracted to work on Accenture-related articles by PR agency Burson Marsteller. As I've mentioned here before, I don't edit live articles myself where I have a COI. I would be grateful if someone could add the new map to this article, in place of the existing one in the Services and Operations section. (Also, side note: shouldn't that heading be in sentence case?) Thanks! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:23, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 18:10, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much, Dormskirk! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 14:07, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

External links modified

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Accenture. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Corporate structure

I'd like to see a n overview of the corporate structure, particularly to see where Accenture (Azerbaijan) Limited fits in. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 01:00, 13 November 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Semi-Protection

I think that this article should be Semi-Protected as I have seen many anonymous editors and some other also editing it poorly and publishing incorrect informations and giving citations which are of no relevance to the matter.so please whosoever is responsible for this should consider this request of mine . Dpshmrt (talk) 06:37, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt that the trouble has reached the level that would warrant protection, but if you want to propose it then please do at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. You should familiarize yourself with the protection policy first so you can engage with the process effectively.--Gronk Oz (talk) 00:38, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Gronk Oz,
Thanks for guiding with the procedure but if you think that there is no need for Semi-Protection of the article, then it's fine as you are much much more experienced and also know better than me.It's only 1 day since I have joined and will always seek the advise of editors like yours before doing any activity that involves any confusion.
Dpshmrt (talk) 05:27, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
20 (blushing) - Very kind of you to say so, Dpshmrt. It wasn't that long ago that we were all new, and you will find your way around quickly. Having an open, co-operative attitude like yours will always help. And don't forget to enjoy yourself along the way!--Gronk Oz (talk) 06:45, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Revenue Change Reverted back

I made a change in the revenue of the organisation and made it correct according to the official Financial Report of the company but an editor named ScrapIronIV has Reverted back the changes to an incorrect figure and provided the same citation which I provided .But I am not able to figure it out that from where has he taken that figure as it is not written even in the citation and anywhere else also.So i want the administrator to consider this request of mine as soon as possible as the readers would be getting incorrect information till then.Anyone can see this clearly. Dpshmrt (talk) 15:09, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This issue has been resolved by an editor named Gronk oz.So till then there is no problem but the request for making the page semi-protected should be considered so that the readers could get as much correct information as possible. And the efforts of those editors who always provide information for the readers in good faith do not go in vain.

Hi - If you look at the consolidated income statement the gross revenues are US$ 32.914 billion and the net revenues are US$ 31.047 billion. So it looks as if both ScrapIronIV and Gronk Oz were right. I am not sure why you want the page semi-protected. It would mean that experienced editors like ScrapIronIV and Gronk Oz could edit it but editors like yourself could not. I doubt whether that is what you were seeking to achieve. Dormskirk (talk) 17:54, 3 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The difference between the two figures is the reimbursements. The template for {{Infobox company}} calls for the revenue field to contain "all income that the company receives from its normal business activities, usually from the sale of goods and services to customers", which excludes reimbursements. This gives the "net revenues" that are included in the company's financial reports according to the GAAS. If there is a case for using a different standard, then please put it forward.--Gronk Oz (talk) 00:59, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dormskirk, I wanted that article to come under semi- Protection category as the only purpose of this is to provide correct information and nothing else.It doesn't matter whether who edits it but he should provide it in good faith and the information should be correct .Also I have mentioned earlier also that I am an inexperienced editor and almost all the editors have much more experience than me .So if I go wrong somewhere then you are always welcome to correct and advise me . Dpshmrt (talk) 05:44, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Dormskirk (talk) 17:02, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Early 2016 article updates and new sources

Hi all, I'm back again to propose a few edits to bring existing information on this page up-to-date. Also, I have identified sources for some material recently deleted from this page, and would like to see if editors could re-add these details now they're appropriately supported:

Infobox and introduction updates

  • First, the source provided for "Services" in the infobox no longer supports that description of Accenture. A more accurate description would be:
strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations.
Citation:<ref name=AboutAccenture>{{cite web |url=https://www.accenture.com/us-en/company.aspx |title=About Accenture |author=<!--Staff writer(s); no by-line.--> |date= |website= |publisher= |access-date=10 December 2015 |quote=}}</ref>
  • Similarly, the company description in the lead sentence is outdated, too. This could be rewritten to say:
Accenture is a multinational management consulting services company.
Citation:<ref name=Taylor15>{{cite news |last=Taylor |first=Charlie |date=21 August 2015 |title=Companies move to ditch the dreaded performance review |url=http://www.irishtimes.com/business/work/companies-move-to-ditch-the-dreaded-performance-review-1.2321864 |newspaper=[[Irish Times]] |location= |access-date=10 December 2015}}</ref>
  • Also, the final sentence of the lead paragraph should be updated to say that Accenture's current clients:
include 94 of the Fortune Global 100 and more than 80 percent of the Fortune Global 500.
Citation:<ref name=FactSheet>{{cite web |url=https://newsroom.accenture.com/fact-sheet/ |title=Fact sheet |author=<!--Staff writer(s); no by-line.--> |date= |website= |publisher= |access-date=10 December 2015 |quote=}}</ref>

Formation and early years

Most of the information under the Formation and early years subhead was deleted on October 23, 2015 due to the lack of references. Below, I've rewritten that section, including new third-party sources to support the details.

Formation and early years
Accenture began as the business and technology consulting division of accounting firm Arthur Andersen.[1] Arthur Andersen's first job in computer consulting came in the early 1950s, when the firm conducted a feasibility study for General Electric to install a computer at Appliance Park in Louisville, Kentucky.[2] In 1953, the firm urged GE to install a UNIVAC I computer and printer.[3] This system is believed to be the first commercial use of a computer in the U.S.[4] Joseph Glickauf, an early pioneer of computer consulting, held a position as head of Arthur Andersen's administrative services division.[2]

Marketing, branding and identity

On October 23, 2015, an editor deleted the mention of Accenture's slogan from the Marketing, branding and identity section. I found a New York Times story about Accenture's marketing efforts, based on which I'd like to request this be reinstated, in addition to basic info about recent marketing efforts supported by the Times article and Interbrand's website. I've written a paragraph that can be added to the beginning of the existing Marketing, branding and identity section, if editors think it's appropriate:

Marketing, branding and identity
In 2011, Accenture launched a new campaign of results-based ads featuring clients such as Marriott, Unilever and the Royal Shakespeare Company alongside its slogan “High performance. Delivered”.[1] As of 2015, Interbrand ranked Accenture No. 42 on its list of best global brands. The brand consultancy noted Accenture's focus on branding and marketing of its Accenture Strategy, Accenture Consulting, Accenture Digital, Accenture Technology and Accenture Operations divisions.[2]
