Swami X is a 1970s boardwalk performer and stand-up comedian from Venice, California, active from the 1970s. He was known for bawdy sexual humour and political invective.[1][2] He retired in 1985.[1]

Swami X's act involved blasphemy, profanity, attacking "sacred cows", etc. -- producing "pleased shock and delighted outrage" in observers.[2]

In 2009 the mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, presented him with a "city proclamation".[3]
