The history of the "State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan" is very large and deep, as the museum is the oldest museum in [[Tashkent]], as well as in Uzbekistan. It was first established in Tashkent by Russians scientists in the year of 1876 on 12 July, and it was called as the "Tashkent Museum". During its working time, the "State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan" have been closed and again re-set for several times. In 1919 it was opened under the name of "Turkistan National Museum". After two years in 1921 the "State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan" was given under the [[Committee of Museums]], and was renamed as the "Main Museum of Nature in Central Asia". However, after 5 years on January, the museum was renamed to its current name which is "State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan". In 1937 the museum opened the class room, in which the students of schools were given lectures about the nature of Uzbekistan. Between the years of 1960 and 1966 there were number of expeditions to the various regions of Uzbekistan. For its contribution of development of Uzbekistan in academic sphere, the museum was awarded by the government for many times. In 1967 the museum won the challenge and was named as the "Uzbekistan's best museum". State Museum of Nature of Uzbekistan, is considered to be the oldest museum which is currently working in modern Uzbekistan.
