The mischievously worded banner advert was part of an ethnically divisive political campaign aimed at securing Lagos State for the ruling party by instilling fear in Yoruba people, making them believe that Igbo people intended to "take over" Lagos. |

Momentary the outcome led to bigotry, condemnation, arson attacks, disenfranchisement, hate and death inflicted on the Igbo’s. On March 20, 2023, after the governorship election, he rendered and apology letters to Igbos for his bigotry and mischievous act. He later on donated ordinary 32,000 naira. |
