Sadia Dehlvi is a renowned Delhi based Muslim actress, author, columnist, TV producer, activist, and commentator. She contributes to popular news magazine Outlook India among other prominent forums. Dehlvi whose last name means someone from Delhi reflecting her family's long association with Delhi was once married to a Pakistani, from whom she got divorced via email, apparently a first. Dehlvi is well known as a socialite and a close confidante of author Khushwant Singh. Singh’s book Not a Nice Man to Know was dedicated to "Sadia Dehlvi". He wrote, "To Sadia Dehlvi, who gave me more affection and notoriety than I deserve." Singh's book, Men and Women in my Life carries an entire chapter on her and the cover has her photo.

Dehlvi won acclaim for her show "Amma and Family" that showed Delhi's unique culture. Dehlvi is the editor of Bano Urdu monthly.

Stances

Dehlvi has taken a conservative stance [1] in the recent controversy over Taslima Nasreen. She also wrote a column for Friday Times, Lahore, in 1992, "In Praise of Shariat".
