Nick Rivera Caminero (born February 25, 1980 in the Dominican Republic) is known artistically as Nicky Jam. He was born to a Puerto Rican father and a Dominican mother. He is a reggaeton artist known for such hits as "Me Voy Pa'l Party", "En la Cama", "Descontrol", "Buscarte", "Guayando", "Vive Contigo" among others.

Musical Career

When he was six years old he moved to Barrio Obrero, Puerto Rico. He got a certain rise in popularity after the release of his 2004 release of Vida Escante, his most recent album under Pina Records. Nicky Jam has worked with the likes of Daddy Yankee, Don Chezina, Lito & Polaco , Big Boy , Rakim y Ken-Y and Héctor y Tito in the past. He has appeared in many reggaeton albums, currently holding the record for most appearances on various artist CDs which was formerly held by Daddy Yankee. He has been in reggaeton since his young years and met with Daddy Yankee back when they were recording with Guatauba and DJ Playero. Unfortunately an incident caused him and Daddy Yankee to end their friendship. After the dispute they have settled their differences and while it was rumored that he would appear on Yankee's upcoming album, El Cartel: The Big Boss, these rumors came up false and he did not appear on Daddy Yankee's new albums. This rumor was denied by Pina Records on its web site. He is currently signed with Universal Latin recordings and Pina Records.

Despite being one of the mainstream Reggaeton artists he has yet to do a concert in Puerto Rico's Coliseum. He was however present at the concerts of Hector y Tito , Daddy Yankee and Lito y Polaco at those venues.

Even though he has more songs than any other Reggaeton artist, He is only known in United States for a few songs like "Loco", "Yo No Soy Tu Marido", "Chambonea" and "Me Voy Pal Party". This however doesn't stop him from being very popular up north, where he tours often.
