Jeffrey Pegues (born in 1974 in Connecticut) is an American News Correspondent. Most recently, Jeff works as a reporter for WABC-TV in New York City.

At WABC-TV, Pegues can be seen reporting major news and getting exclusive storylines. When he is not in the mainstream, Pegues could be seen filling in on several newscasts. Also, Pegues is in line to replace current alum Steve Bartelstein, who received his pink slip on March 9, 2007.

Pegues is mostly known for his top-notch reporting. He received an Emmy-Award Nomination for both his coverage on the Democratic National Convention in 2004 and his report on Hurricane Rita from Texas in 2005.

Prior to coming to New York City, Jeff held a main anchor position at other stations outside of the city. Most recently, Pegues was a reporter for WBAL-TV In Baltimore, Maryland. He also earned Emmy Award nominations for that tenure. Before that, Jeff worked as an evening anchor at WFOR-TV, the CBS News Affiliate in Miami, Florida.

Currently, Pegues lives in Manhattan with his wife and son.

While working for WABC-TV he's covered some of the major stories of the last four years. He was part of the station's team coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings, he covered the 2004 Democratic National Convention and reported from Texas in 2005 as Hurricane Rita pounded the state.

Prior to coming to New York City, Jeff held weekday evening anchor positions at the NBC station in Baltimore and the FOX station in Miami. He was also a co-host for a syndicated national show called "Everyday Living".

Pegues graduated from Miami University of Ohio, where he was a scholarship football player. He was a starting wide receiver for the "Redskins" in the early '90's. Pegues was known for his speed on the gridiron, making him difficult for opposing defenders to cover. He was also academic all-conference honorable mention.

Currently, Pegues lives in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.
