==The Candyman==
A legend of Ingraham lore is a student known simply as "The Candyman." Currently, this unknown student operates out of the school lockers to bring candy to willing high school students. Unknown to whom the title actually refers to, the student's individual organization is a non-profit charity business that, in the past, has benefited Hurricane Katrina Relief by a contribution of $56.03, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with $100.00 and the Millenium Villages Project with $650.00. Staff and students alike have purchased from him or provided their support. Yet, general views of the Candyman differ. There is much concern over such practice within the school, and many staff have voiced their opinion against such acts. However, insufficient knowledge as to who is behind these philanthropic acts has led staff to give up or give in, for the time being, to the existence of the Candyman.<ref name="Crafty "Candyman" sweet sight at school where treats are banned">{{cite web|date=[[November 2]], [[2006]]|url=http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003336882_candyman02m.html|title=Crafty "Candyman" a sweet sight at school where treats are banned|publisher=The Seattle Times|accessdate=2007-12-13}}</ref>

Opened in 1959, it is named after Edward Sturgis Ingraham, the first superintendent of the Seattle Public Schools. The Candyman

However, insufficient knowledge as to who is behind these philanthropic acts has led staff to give up or give in, for the time being, to the existence of the Candyman.[3]
