Ed Maley is an 8th dan judoka from the United States. Maley was born in Brooklyn, New York City.[1] Ed Maley was inducted into the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame in 1980.[2] Ed Maley has been teaching judo for 65 years,[3] starting judo as a teenager in New York city and continuing while in the Air Force.[4] Ed was the first Air Force Fighter to place in the national championships starting in 1956.[5] From 1959-1965, Ed was the Florida State Champion.[6] Ed currently teaches in Florida.[7] The school has been open since 1963.[8] Ed has been called the hero of Gene Lebell.[9] Ed has trained many national champions during his training.[1]
