Capybara walking, (1887)

Capybara Walking is an animal locomotion film created in 1887 by English-American photographer Eadweard Muybridge.[1] It depicts a capybara, the world's largest rodent, walking to the right side of the screen.[2] The film itself is around 30 seconds long and is one of the first films ever produced.[citation needed]

Stills from the film are included in the permanent collections of the Wellcome Collection, London,[3] the National Gallery of Canada,[4] the University of Southern California[5], the Eadweard Muybridge archives of the University of Pennsylvania[6] as well as the George Eastman Museum collection.[7]
