Biomonitoring is the application of analytical chemistry methods to biological substances to determine the concentrations of toxic substances.[1][2] In the US, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a biomonitoring program to determine the body burden of toxic substances, as does the Environmental Working Group (EWG).[3]
