The Triple Crown is an award given to users who achieve several milestones among content contributions throughout their Wikipedia careers, and honours outstanding contributions to Wikipedia. These contributions are did you know credits, good content, and featured content. Triple Crowns are awarded depending on the amount of recognized content a user has; several special and Wikiproject-focused Triple Crowns are also awarded.

To be eligible for a Triple Crown, you must satisfy the following:

Shortcuts:
Any Wikipedia editor is welcome to try for a Triple Crown. For purposes of these awards, a major contributor is generally someone who contributed to at least twenty-five percent of an article's content. Any type of featured content counts toward a Triple Crown. Editors may mix and match different types of featured material when requesting the Imperial Triple Crown Jewels and beyond. For featured pictures, a nominator who is not the original uploader may qualify if they did other significant work that was needed for the picture to become featured, such as image cleanup or description research.

A single article could count for all three categories if the same editor contributed to its did you know, good article and featured article recognition. Please note that Triple Crowns are awarded in sets. This means that an editor who earned twelve featured pictures, twenty did you know credits, and two good articles will only get two of each category listed. Please select submissions accordingly, and thank you for helping Wikipedia.

Steeplechase Triple Crowns[edit]

Shortcut:

A steeplechase was originally a type of horse race where competitors hurried to the nearest church steeple, and developed into a formal race across an obstacle course of various challenges. Modern steeplechases can be either foot races or equestrian events. The new Wikipedia steeplechase applies the idea of varied accomplishments to editing. It isn't exactly a triple crown; it's a challenge to contribute different types of featured content.

WikiProject Triple Crowns[edit]

Special edition triple crown awards are available to WikiProjects. The award itself will be a custom image Photoshopped from freely licensed images that combines the triple crown theme with a theme from the WikiProject's area of interest. The award goes to the WikiProject itself, with copies distributed to each project member who helps the project qualify. This section will honor triple crown WikiProjects by hosting an image of each project award along with the usernames and contributions of the editors who earned it.

To qualify, the WikiProject must have five or more members who qualify for a standard triple crown on the basis of editing work for that project.
