[edit] use of o.s. In dictionaries

reading pocket french English dictionary and they use o.s. In certain definitions. What does it mean? Does it mean an old usage of the word? Example: se faire juste- revenge o.s.; commit suicide; thsnks. 66.94.27.11 (talk) 17:10, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

This looks to me like an abbreviation of "oneself". (Compare "s.o." for "someone" and "s.th." for "something.) The beginning of the dictionary should include list of abbreviations used in the dictionary, though. -- pne (talk) 11:11, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
