Other flag stop "stations" on the Hudson Bay Railway to consider for redirects[edit]

Churchill, Manitoba to Bird station[edit]

Via Rail describes each of these as "sign posts" on the Hudson Bay Railway used by the Winnipeg–Churchill train. They have exactly the same characteristic as the Silcox station - there's nothing there. Satellite images show no populated places between Churchill, Manitoba (the north end) and the Fox Lake Cree Nation, served by the Bird station (flag stop), 262 km to the south. Bird is on Manitoba 290 near the Limestone Dam on the Nelson River. From north to south:

There are 1-3 equipment sheds on sidings at several of these flag stops but they don't look like "stations". A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 03:18, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bird station to Thicket Portage station[edit]

Still more flag stops heading south:

There are still more station articles for flag stops in the middle of nowhere south of Thicket Portage. They're for another day. --A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 03:33, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

With this AfD converging on redirect, I would suggest that a close to that effect would justify bold WP:BLAR of all these to suitable best targets. Any reverts could then be taken to AfD. Sirfurboy🏄 (talk) 08:42, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I prodded a good number of them yesterday, some were deprodded, some were endorsed. Redirecting is fine with me. –dlthewave 12:59, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thicket Portage station to The Pas[edit]

WP:BLAR seems reasonable given the absence of meaningful and significant objections at the AFD. Actualcpscm (talk) 19:50, 3 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

A. B., thanks for putting this together! Looks like we have a great many station articles that should be redirected to the line. One concern I have is redirecting the "station" and "town" to separate targets. A lot of these pairs (O'Day station and O'Day, Manitoba for example) cite the exact same Canadian Geographical Names Database and VIA Rail sources, both of which describe the location as a rail point/flag stop. If someone invented the "town" out of whole cloth, which appears to be the case, it doesn't seem approriate to redirect to the census division instead of the railroad. –dlthewave 16:15, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
