Hey, I can understand what you were thinking, and the word isn't absolutely necessary to describe his powers in a dry sense, but it's a very apt word, one I feel is extremely appropriate in this instance. In fact, his powers, and his personality for that matter, ARE bestial in nature. The claws, the fangs, the enhanced senses... they're not only tied to the fact that he's a mutant, but that he's also Lupine, linked to a subset of humanity which evolved from wolves rather than apes (along with Wolverine, Feral, Thornn, Wolfsbane, Sasquatch etc). See the entry on Romulus (Marvel Comics) and Fictional history of Wolverine#Post-Civil War for more info on that.
In any case, the character's beast-like nature is one of his key traits, so I feel that the word does the article service. If you really feel it needs to be removed, let's discuss it on the discussion page. I certainly wouldn't argue with a consensus, but I hope I've made my point here. Cheers! ---D--- (talk) 04:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that Romulus thing has become what Tvtropes.org would call discontinuity. Because Feral and Thornn are/were half -cat-. Not half wolf. Lots42 (talk) 04:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can't say I like the idea myself, and wouldn't be surprised if the Lupine aspect is ignored by future writers and slips out of canon, it IS still an element of an ongoing in-continuity book however. It's a story thread that hasn't been dropped yet despite having clearly been set-up in the beginning issues of Wolverine: Origins nearly three years ago. That doesn't mean it will ultimately be regarded as canon, but it's lasted much longer as a device than most retconned elements do. ---D--- (talk) 12:07, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There was a slow-paced edit war going on over Wolverine's birthplace. If that wasn't you, sorry. If it was, see above. Lots42 (talk) 06:54, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted to say thanks for the heads-up on the drowning issue... I sadly no longer have the collection I used to, makes it harder to pull issues to fact-check. If no one else objects to the discussion I'll probably add a short bit in a few days, let me know how you like it. Cheers! Enigmatic2k3 (talk) 15:02, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't pure speculation. If you pay attention to Stryker's dialog, he mentions that adamantium was based on the meteorite. He doesn't say that the meteorite was adamantium. Also, in X2, Styker's statement "if you ever process" implies that the metal is man-made. Emperor001 (talk) 01:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
