It is a correction - if you disagree with my conclusion then please state why instead of accusing me of vandalism. 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 09:09, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Ncuti Gatwa, you may be blocked from editing.

  • That Ncuti Gatwa is Scottish is sourced by the BBC. Also, a McLeod, no less saying in The National in Scotland that Gatwa is Scottish.

Definition of Scottish: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Scottish. He doesn't even speak with a Scottish accent, his parentage is African, he was born in Africa. One woman's opinion piece doesn't change a definition regardless of her ethnicity neither does Gatwa's self-definition. 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 11:29, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided you with a dictionary definition. The article describes his parentage and birthplace as African already. This information is both a) already published and b) not personal analysis. Indeed, your case is supported by a personal analysis just one that has been carried out by an actual Scot. 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 12:31, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Merriam-Webster, an American dictionary defines who is a Scot? That's new one on me! Adakiko (talk) 12:43, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It also defines what a giraffe is despite giraffes not being native to the USA... are you familiar with the concept of a dictionary? 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 12:45, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See Wikipedia:Dictionaries as sources. e.g. marginal at best. Adakiko (talk) 13:10, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The argument is over the definition of a word so that is why I have used a dictionary. That is what they are for. Then again, you have posted various bits of information about "gender identity" so maybe you don't know what a woman is either? 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 13:17, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I support a person's self-identity. People are complicated, I don't understand it all, but it doesn't frighten me nor threaten my identity. It appears to threaten your identity. The world is not black and white; it's RGB++. People's desired are driven by a multitude of factors. XY v XX is a significant, but not overwhelming factor. What's your score? Be honest! I'm in the lower right corner. I like men who are on the left; more women for me! If someone isn't interested in me (which is most of the planet), that's OK. Adakiko (talk) 14:22, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is all very interesting but Ncuti Gatwa is a Rwandan and an African, not a Scotsman. 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 15:29, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Did you take that test honestly? Multiple wp:reliable sources state he is "Rwandan-Scottish". That supersedes your dictionary-definition. See the latest on talk:Ncuti Gatwa#Current citations for "Rwandan-Scottish" and MOS:BIO#Notes Adakiko (talk) 20:38, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of edit warring[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Ncuti Gatwa shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. What is a giraffe? 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 12:53, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A giraffe isn't defined by a dictionary and neither is a Scotsman. Only a true Scotsman - Wikipedia:Dictionaries as sources Adakiko (talk) 13:12, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How else do you find the simple definition of a word?? That is the purpose of a dictionary: to define words. You clearly aren't familiar with what a dictionary is so I think you ought not to edit wiki pages. 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 13:16, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no - do I need to go on the run from the Internet Police? Am I now an Internet Outlaw? 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 15:30, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your reply puts your compatibility with the collaborative project into question. Please make sure not to match the description at WP:DISRUPTSIGNS. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 16:22, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So the overall aim is consensus even in the face of a clear dictionary definition? 2A00:D3E0:8:5A00:C979:6725:E580:1C51 (talk) 16:49, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
