Terpene

Pare (or Mojokuto) is a town and district in the Kediri regency (kabupaten) within the province of East Java, Indonesia. The district covers an area of 49.69 km2 and had a population of 98,594 at the 2010 census[1] and 106,007 at the 2020 census.[2]

The village of Tulungrejo in western Pare became popularly known as the location of the "English Village" in the 1960s, after American anthropologist Clifford Geertz conducted research there into religion in Java and its relation to Indonesian politics in the wake of the legislative election and Constitutional Assembly election of 1955.[3][4]
