Deutsch: Südwestansicht der Stadtpfarrkirche Hl. Johannes Evangelist in der oberösterreichischen Stadt Wels.
Ursprünglich war sie eine romanische Basilika und Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts begann ein gotische Umbau und Erweiterung. In der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhundert erfolgte eine Turmerhöung und das barocke Westportal wurde errichtet. Anlässlich dem 1000-jährigen urkundlichen Bestehen der Kirche, wurde sie 1888 bis 1890 erneuert und umgebaut. Bei der Restaurierung 1958 wurden diese Veränderungen teilweise rückgängig gemacht. |
