February tournaments[edit]

Hey, hope you are good and healthy. ;) The tournaments for women teams start in about two months. Should we have a list (or similar to keep track) to see if everything is complete and created? Kante4 (talk) 10:06, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Kante4 Doing well - mostly tired with uni and work ;0 That would be a good idea. I hope I will be able to help out as I have exams starting mid-January :S --SuperJew (talk) 15:49, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck of course. Maybe we can write down the articles/tournaments that will be played. Kante4 (talk) 16:13, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(Started replying earlier, but it must've not posted) So the tournaments we (potentially) have:
Let me know if there are any I've missed ;) --SuperJew (talk) 21:52, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kante4: Forgot to tag. --SuperJew (talk) 18:36, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The 2022 Arnold Clark Cup is already created. Will have a look for the others during the holidays. Kante4 (talk) 20:27, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

So we have created already:

Will add them here when i find info or they get created. I should be able to look at it today/tomorrow. Kante4 (talk) 08:04, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kante4: So the 2022 Algarve Cup is set to go and schedule has been released (sad Australia won't be in it in the end). I'll add the schedule etc. later after my exam if no one does it before. --SuperJew (talk) 08:54, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nice and it is already February, forgot that. I can do it later on if i get time. Kante4 (talk) 09:23, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fantastic Kante4! Wonder when they'll start releasing squads. I'll try to be on it, but it's a pretty crazy exam period rn IRL :( --SuperJew (talk) 06:26, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, trying to check now: Sweden will release on 8 Feb. Can't see any other scheduled dates from the other associations, but I guess that's around the release date --SuperJew (talk) 06:33, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Pintar cup will also be played (will create it now) per this. Kante4 (talk) 13:50, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kante4: Great! I just found this about a tournament in Malta with Malta, Sweden, Slovakia, and Austria. --SuperJew (talk) 14:08, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. Can create it in a couple of minutes if you want or you can. Kante4 (talk) 14:18, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, that article is about the tournament a year ago. Kante4 (talk) 14:28, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, I missed that. Was misled by this tweet. Seems from Karl's tweets the tournament in Malta is TBC still and only 3 teams. Sorry --SuperJew (talk) 14:31, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. Kante4 (talk) 14:33, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Created also 2022 Pinatar Cup squads and added Hungary's squad :) --SuperJew (talk) 15:35, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Added also Czech and Iceland squads to 2022 SheBelieves Cup squads. Should probably get back to studying properly for now though :S --SuperJew (talk) 20:09, 6 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And all squads pages created; just need to finish filling them up :) --SuperJew (talk) 13:37, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kante4: Okay, so I've seen confirmation from people that Malta International Women's Football Tournament is going ahead with 3 nations: Malta, Moldova, Morocco (3 matches: Feb 16 Malta v Moldova, Feb 19 Morocco v Malta, Feb 22 Morroco v Moldova) and Turkish Women's Cup will be contested by six nations: Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (fixtures here, Ukraine squad). Will try and find more official info now. --SuperJew (talk) 19:49, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here we go: Ukraine Turkish Cup squad announcement, Venezuela announcement of Turkish Cup. Can't find anything official or semi-official about Malta :( --SuperJew (talk) 20:05, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Will take a look later. ;) Kante4 (talk) 16:04, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of squads also here if that helps. Malta tournament seems confirmed here. Kante4 (talk) 18:19, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AFCON 2021 Squads[edit]

I understand entirely what you're saying with regard to 2021 Africa Cup of Nations squads, and Ghana's list in particular. The problem is that what you are suggesting would create inconsistency with the organization of the lists in the article, which is not ideal. I have opened a discussion on the talk page for the article to try to reach a consensus on this. As far as individual lists on individual national teams' pages are concerned, consensus holds that they be organized by position, as there are countless examples of such. I am interested in other ideas, though. Anwegmann (talk) 20:48, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Anwegmann: Replied on the talk page, where the discussion should be centralised. In future, there is no need to list on both article's talk page and my talk page, especially if you tag me on article's talk page. --SuperJew (talk) 06:42, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Easy does it. I was just trying to keep you in the loop in good faith. Anwegmann (talk) 16:04, 7 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Hello again, Diannaa here. Once again you've copied boilerplate text, this time into 2010 AFC Women's Asian Cup squads. Regardless of whether or not you consider it to be standard text, attribution is required. If you could please provide attribution when copying from one Wikipedia article to another by stating in your edit summary where you copied it from, that would be perfect. Please see WP:CWW for further details on how to do it if you're not sure. Thank you, — Diannaa (talk) 21:19, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Romanian diacritics[edit]

Hello, I want to note that you're moving Romanian and Moldovan biography articles to the wrong diacritics. Ţ ţ Ş and ş are never used in Romanian. For example, on Violeta Mițul's case, there are many websites using the correct diacritics of her name [1] [2] [3] [4]. If any source uses Ţ ţ Ş and ş for Romanian, it's wrong. The reason why Romanian diacritics are so often written incorrectly is due to a former software error, you can read more about it here [5] [6]. Super Ψ Dro 20:54, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Super Dromaeosaurus: As I noted in the edit summary, my source for moving the pages is the official site of the Moldovan Football Federation. I would assume they know which diacritics to use. --SuperJew (talk) 21:00, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, Romanian-language sources also commonly write the wrong diacritics. Here you have some examples from major Romanian newspapers: [7] [8] [9]. This issue extends to serious and official affairs such as passports [10]. Still, officially, the Romanian language does not use Ţ ţ Ş and ş but Ț ț Ș and ș. There are no Wikipedia articles with titles in Romanian using Ţ ţ Ş and ş, all are always moved to Ț ț Ș and ș. Super Ψ Dro 21:10, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Super Dromaeosaurus: I see. That is extremely bizzare, especially in official documents :O Thanks for the information - a very eye opening piece for the beginning of the day. --SuperJew (talk) 06:11, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination for deletion of Template:2019 National Women's Soccer League season[edit]

Ambox warning blue.svgTemplate:2019 National Women's Soccer League season has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. Hhkohh (talk) 06:53, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hhkohh: I don't see a reason cited on this. Why are you nominating it for deletion? Also I suggest you calm down a bit with this mass deletion. And if you are nominating due to the template being able to be imported to an article and transcluded, first import and transclude them and then nominate for TFD. --SuperJew (talk) 07:03, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pinging me. This discussion is included many templates, and I will merge these templates into a discussion later Hhkohh (talk) 07:07, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the correct TfD process is nominate first, then subst. Hhkohh (talk) 07:16, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A big thank you to you and every single person who created articles during the period of the contest for making this happen!

2022 ACL[edit]

Note that if YFM lost match today, YFM will go to runner-up, and their points is 6 while comparing runners-up ranking. So MCY did not eliminate for now Hhkohh (talk) 13:08, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Hhkohh: Thanks, I just realised that now. Though with 1-1 and 10 minutes to play, it's highly unlikely --SuperJew (talk) 15:41, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

2022–23 in Australian soccer[edit]

I have begun 2022–23 in Australian soccer, but as there are only matches at this point for the U-17 Women's World Cup it is a pretty bare article, and probably needs to be beefed up at this point to avoid possible speedy deletion on the grounds of WP:TOOSOON. Can you review and help ? Matilda Maniac (talk) 03:47, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's okay right now, as that's the info available. Worst case we'll draftify it for a couple of months. --SuperJew (talk) 07:22, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
