@Theleekycauldron: You are certainly doing a great job at DYK, filling a void that was left after Yoninah's departure. The DYK work is quasi-administrative, and that would be in your favour at an RfA, as would the featured list and good article that you have worked on, plus several articles I have seen at DYK. You always come across as helpful and pleasant. However, I don't know what else you do around the place. Do you take part in AfD discussions (apart from Erynn Chambers)? What about requested moves, new page patrolling, recent changes patrolling, articles for creation, and everything else? Participating in these activities demonstrates that you understand policy. Thanks for the feedback! I used to take part in pending changes and AfD (my stats on the latter aren't great, but they are what they are), and I'm probably going to go back to those, as well as looking for positions in AfC and new pages. It is true that I could remove the protection but admins are not meant to reverse other admins' actions without discussing the matter with them first. Anyway, it is better to ask the original administrator, Drmies, who knows the history of the article and the reasons behind fully protecting it in the first place. QPQ[edit]

How long do nominators have to do a QPQ? Template:Did you know nominations/Joe Youssefi was nominated for DYK on October 17 and I reviewed it on October 24, but a QPQ still hasn't been completed. A quick query about the WikiCup rules - I finished all the fixes asked for at my Talk:1998 FIFA World Cup Final/GA1 GA last night before midnight, but the reviewer didn't formally promote it until this morning. WikiCup 2021 November newsletter[edit]

The WikiCup is over for another year and the finalists can relax! Our Champion this year is The Rambling Man (submissions), who amassed over 5000 points in the final round, achieving 8 featured articles and almost 500 reviews. It was a very competitive round; seven of the finalists achieved over 1000 points in the round (enough to win the 2019 contest), and three scored over 3000 (enough to win the 2020 event). @Theleekycauldron: About Puccinia porri, Google produces 44,700 search results so I don't think you will find a problem. Although some journal articles may be useful for the sort of information you will be including, a lot of them are too technical. I use Google Scholar to see what is available. Annotated[edit]

You created Template:POTD/2021-11-28. It says "The picture is annotated; move the mouse pointer over the image to identify the persons shown." That feature doesn't work for me. When I mouse over one of the faces, or anything else in the picture, it shows the title "A Meeting in the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters", but it doesn't identify the person. Sarah Schkeeper[edit]

On Sarah Schkeeper, I have checked the sources, looked also for others which would confirm her notability, but was not really successful. [This] is what comes when I search for Schkeeper. Facebook Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and a patient of the month mention in a therapeutical facility etc. The article that seems to have her mentioned more than once is a 404. The actual author of the article seems to be against, that her personal information is on wikipedia. The personal info is unsourced, but there has been a lot of rollback (also by myself) admin action, so I thought I'd ask what to do? @Atsme: Indeed, our paths have not crossed for some time. As an admin, I have mostly helped at RFPP, done revision deletion requests and helped at DYK. My blocking rate is about one per month, and those are mostly vandals who continue vandalising after a final warning. I don't remember any discussion about taxoboxes and the IUCN Red List status. Are articles nominated for FA or GA days/months before January 1, but promoted on/after January 1 eligible?
I might be a little foolish here, but, can I use the GA reviews I am doing for January backlog drive for claiming points in the WikiCup as well. I am presuming the answer to be 'no', but ...

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. See this diff. Named person being described as a paedo. I have reverted for now but it should be expunged.

Hello Cwmhiraeth I do not know where to go with an issue regarding an article I started. I saw that you are active in DYK and I was hoping you could look at this issue. I had an article at DYK yesterday and someone used a {{WP:G6}} to delete the article and then recreate it. I put a message on the editor's page, and they have ignored the message. I say ignored because I have waited almost a full day and they are active on Wikipedia but not answering my question. Thanks in advance. @Bruxton: I am not the best person to deal with this as I am pretty useless with regards to technical matters. I first thought the deleter had made a mistake and reversed his action, but on further thoughts, I see the article was moved to a new title, and deleting the old page may just have been part of the move process. Thanks for the reply. It is likely an improper use of a speedy deletion. The editor endorses the use of speedy with a banner on their talk page. In my short time here I have made many page moves and none have required a speedy deletion. I have used the G7 tag twice to remove items that I had created. A normal page move does not require a deletion. What I do not like is a deleted page showing up in my articles created and the editor has made no attempt to engage in dialogue after I posted my concern on their talk page. Reviewers at URFA/2020 are always excited when an editor indicates that they watchlist their nominations, as those articles are less likely to have deteriorated. A goal of URFA/2020 is to determine which FAs have been abandoned because their nominator doesn't edit anymore and no one is taking care of them. If you indicate that you are watchlisting your nominations at URFA/2020, it lets future reviews know that they are probably in good shape and also who to ping if there are concerns or questions about the article. The yellows are called "lesser celandines or pilewort", says the article (and I chose the shorter one), the pinkies are corydalis solida.

I don't have the slightest idea, sorry. My one and only attempt was to fix Buxtehude's , and after some edit warring we realised I was trying German and the other Danish. WikiCup 2022 March newsletter[edit]

And so ends the first round of the WikiCup. Last year anyone who scored more than zero points moved on to Round 2, but this was not the case this year, and a score of 13 or more was required to proceed. The top scorers in Round 1 were:

Epicgenius, a finalist last year, who led the field with 1906 points, gained from 32 GAs and 19 DYKs, all on the topic of New York buildings.
AryKun, new to the contest, was second with 1588 points, having achieved 2 FAs, 11 GAs and various other submissions, mostly on the subject of birds.
Bloom6132, a WikiCup veteran, was in third place with 682 points, garnered from 51 In the news items and several DYKs.
GhostRiver was close behind with 679 points, gained from achieving 12 GAs, mostly on ice hockey players, and 35 GARs.
Kavyansh.Singh was in fifth place with 551 points, with an FA, a FL, and many reviews.
SounderBruce was next with 454 points, gained from an FA and various other submissions, mostly on United States highways.
Ktin, another WikiCup veteran, was in seventh place with 412 points, mostly gained from In the news items.

These contestants, like all the others who qualified for Round 2, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews of a large number of good articles as the contest ran concurrently with a GAN backlog drive. Well done all! To qualify for Round 3, contestants will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two participants.

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Anything that should have been claimed for in Round 1 is no longer eligible for points. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.

Is it possible for you to unprotect this page? On the talk page, there are 3 editors who have agreed that one editor is committing WP:OR and I have alerted this user of the WP:AC/DS of this area.

There are many edits that are necessary to make given the discovery of lots of information for fixing this inaccurate article.

Hi Cwmhiraeth! I have a question regarding List of international goals scored by Ian Rush. I was not the FL nominator, but I did "adopt" the nomination after the nominator requested someone to take over (Special:Diff/1076144460/1076292003). I now have 69.4% authorship in the list ([1]).
