Summary[edit]

Description
English: Shows two images side-by-side of a green-backed firecrown hummingbird (Sephanoides sephaniodes) taken three seconds apart. Both images are of the same bird. This comparison shows the strong directional dependence of the firecrown. It may be very bright from the front but completely invisible from the sides. Also note the white spots behind the eyes. Taken by Dr. Jason L. Quinn.
