March songs
Scharbockskraut, Geilnau.jpg

Listening to the charity concert mentioned here. I created the articles of the composer and the soprano. - We just reached Bravo! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:00, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Now, you can also listen on YouTube, and more music, the piece by Anna Korsun begins after about one hour, and the voices call "Freiheit!" (freedom, instead of "Freude", joy). Music every day, pictured in songs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:20, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Prayer is on the Main page, finally + new flowers, and btw: the TFA is a young writer's first --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:33, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Today: Bach's No. 1. - I nominated now BWV 56. - Sad record: I brought three articles to the Recent deaths section, - not at the same time today but still ... - two of the three from Ukraine, the third a Russian who left Moscow in 1990, and then went on to conduct the orchestra where my brother plays. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the new barnstar! - Sunday flowers and sounds, don't miss the extraordinary marriage of the beginnings of the theme of Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern, BWV 1, and Prayer for Ukraine - here! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:11, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Mac Studio[edit]

Updated DYK query.svg

On 21 March 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mac Studio, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the faster version of the Mac Studio is 2 pounds (910 g) heavier than the slower one? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mac Studio. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mac Studio), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Audrey Hepburn[edit]

Hi, I see User:ErnestKrause promoted the Hepburn article to GA but I can't see where the books were used to improve it. Do you still have the books? Ernest we have half a dozen books and intended getting it up to GA status!

Pimlico would be a good one to get to GA BTW.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:26, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Blofeld, I don't have the books, I asked Daria to give them to Bettydaisies as she seemed more experienced and interested in getting the article to GA. As far as I know, that happened.
As for Pimlico, I recall improving the eponymous station to try and get it to GA (along with every other station on the Victoria Line) but got stuck for sources. Same's happened with Farfisa, there's a bunch of info about commercially unsuccessful and obscure synths from the 70s I don't have any sources for either. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:41, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding Audrey Hepburn, the article was nominated by me several months ago and was promoted to GA at that time. The list of over a dozen books used for the GAN is listed in the Bibliography section of that article which comes after the References. If anyone might be interested in possibly taking the article for FA nomination with the use of more reference books now available to enhance the article, then this might be good timing for such an FA improvement to the article. ErnestKrause (talk) 14:45, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks both. It would be good to see it brought up to FA status but needs a fair bit of work I think. I got sidetracked from doing it myself when I ran a series of contests and then I ran out of steam on here. If the books are put to good use WMUK will be pleased. The objective though was to get it to GA which it now is, so well done!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:57, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your thoughts[edit]

Bill Direen - a musician from New Zealand. BLP looks promotional to me. Atsme 💬 📧 15:45, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks like a complete mess and could certainly benefit from a big ol' stick of dynamite stuck underneath it, but I don't think it's quite at the level of putting {{db-spam}} on it. You could always try AfD. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 16:20, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I tagged it for rewrite. Also got over 300k Google results using Bill Direen but he also went by William. I'll post something in the relative Project page. Thanks for your input. Atsme 💬 📧 17:12, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher) Atsme, I've restored about 280 earlier revisions of the page which had got lost due to a c&p move in 2015. Don't know if that makes any difference to the present state of it, but at least it makes it possible to see how it got that way. Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:47, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, JLAN!!! I'll see what can be done, and also noticed that the image processing through VRT had not been finalized so I did that, too. Thanks again! Atsme 💬 📧 21:25, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bureaucracy...[edit]

Would you mind helping here, as the "deleting admin"? Wikipedia:Requests_for_undeletion#Satarial. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 15:11, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article, as I deleted it, started off "Satarial was created in 1989 by Lord Seth. It was then called " A.M.S.G. " ( Ad Maiorum Satan Glorium ) and in 1993 changed on Satarial." followed by pages of unsourced gobbledegook. I could restore it to draft for you, but I really think you would be better off writing a short, neutral and sourced article from scratch instead. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:28, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If this is it https://second.wiki/wiki/satarial then I think I can at least reuse the infobox/categories/structure, even if most of the text seems like it will have to be thrown out. So if you could restore it in my sandbox, I think I can use it as a base to write a shorter, referenced entry. TIA Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 14:27, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've put it in User:Piotrus/Satarial, though I'm not sure exactly what you can do with it. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:04, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll probably junk history replacing it with few sentences I can reference with the sources I saw, AGF the other catalogue-like sections as usually not referenced in most similar articles anyway, and mainspace it... well, we will see in a little while when I get around to actually working on this :) Btw, the reason I became interested in this (and why the band is notable now) is due to Polish media coverage that they are in exile in Poland due to anti-Putin/anti-war activism... Your GA nomination of Farfisa[edit]

The article Farfisa you nominated as a good article has passed Symbol support vote.svg; see Talk:Farfisa for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. There ya go... shove that in your frequency divider pipe and smoke it mate, you big Strawberry GA Alarm Clock!! Martinevans123 (talk) 18:28, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see you that and raise you the coda to "White Hammer" on The Least We Can Do Is Wave to Each Other (a cheery song about Malleus, no not that one), although that would probably sound even better on a Hammond, admittedly. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 18:55, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

April[edit]

thank you for miracles on RD! - memories: two people on DYK, both connected to Oper Frankfurt, and don't miss yesterday's video of Pink Floyd given to me! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:58, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Export hell seidel steiner.png A beer on me!
Thank you for your edits and comments. Unfortunately I can only offer you a virtual beer. And it's lager so not really for real ale drinkers. Sorry. Ykraps (talk) 07:32, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah that's alright, if the weather's nice and it's sunny, a refreshing pint of Hop House 13 or similar is just as good. It looks like the GA review has still stalled; I can carry on and do some spot-checks on sources if you want? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:40, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Kind of you to offer but I received notice this evening that it has passed so no need. Thanks once again. --Ykraps (talk) 20:06, 12 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cannon Street station[edit]

Hi, I'm fixing footnote problems and encountered this. Did you mean Gray 1990, already used on the article, or a different work? Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 21:02, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's a different book. I remember I was adding references in the library and was a bit short of time. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:30, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

be careful with that axe eugene[edit]

why did you delete my citated note on be careful with that axe eugene you say how is it relavant. How is information that explains the meaning of the song not relevant to it? please stop reverting it. Dr zoidberg590 (talk) 13:52, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Aside from what makes roadiemusic.com a reliable source for a good article, the source in question has nothing to do with "Careful With That Axe, Eugene". The Good Article criteria, specifically the section on "factually accurate and verifiable" and "focused" have more information. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:37, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) "Be Careful with that Lynx deodorant, Eugene." Mmmmm, nice! Martinevans123 (talk) 11:17, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
